Amazing Alliterative Artifacts

Mask of Malice

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a barbarian)

This wrought-iron half face mask resembels a jagged metal jaw. It fits around the back of the head and over the wearer's mouth. Runes are ingraved on the inner surface. Those who can read Dwarven will know the runes read "Unforgiven."

While attuned to the Mask of Malice, you gain an additional +2 Rage Damage. In addition, whenever you take damage from a creature while raging, you may use your reaction to declare your enmity for that creature.

So long as you are wearing the Mask of Malice, your rage will not end until that creature is dead or an hour has passed. If your rage ends without killing the creature, you gain a level of exhaustion.

Idol of Inspiration

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a bard)

This small ivory idol hangs from a thin leather strap that can be worn around the neck or tied to a belt. In its hands is clutched a brilliant pure sapphire.

While attuned to the Idol of Inspiration, your Bardic Inspiration die is increased by one size (d6, d8, d10, d12, d20).

In addition, you may use Bardic Inspiration an additional time before needing a rest.

Eye of Ilmater

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a cleric of good alignment)

This icon consists of an ovoid-shaped lens set in a golden frame. Small decorative chains hang from its lower half, and a brass circle set in the lens's center gives the impression of a pupil. The Eye can be used as a holy symbol.

While attuned to the Eye of Ilmater, increase the CR of your Destroy Undead feature by 1. Once per long rest, while using your Channel Divinity to turn undead, you may instead double the CR of your Destroy Undead feature (Not including the +1 from the Eye).

Bestial Bangles

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a druid)

These silver earrings each resemble three donward slash marks. The metal is faded and tarnished, but resists any attempt at deformation.

While attuned to the Bestial Bangles, increase the CR limit of your Wild Shape feature by 1. Once per long rest, while using your Wild Shape feature, you may double its CR limit instead (Not including the +1 from the Bangles).

Pugilist's Pipes

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a monk)

These brilliant electrum pipes are welded to a brace which fits over your forearm. They whistle low, unsettling notes as they speed through the air.

While attuned to the Pugilist's Pipes, immediately after spending ki points to use Flurry of Blows, you may spend twice as many ki points to use Flurry of Blows again. You may use this ability any number of times in a single turn.

Codex of Combat

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a class with the Fighting Style feature)

This simple leatherbound tome was made with a brass loop to hook onto a belt. Inside are many passages on warfare, combat, and the art of ending the lives of others.

As part of attunement, you must read a section in the book on a Fighting Style you choose, that you do not already know. While the book remains on your person, you gain the benefits of that Fighting Style. You may select a style even if your class does not normally have access to it.

You may change this Fighting Style by reading a different passage during a short rest, but a single Codex of Combat can only provide you with a single Fighting Style's benefits at a time.

Spectacles of Sure Striking

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a rogue)

The lenses of these brass-framed glasses are etched with miniscule diagrams and markings too fine to make out.

The Spectacles have 3 charges and regain 1d3 at dawn. At any time, you can speak the command word, which will cause the lenses' markings to flare with red light and point out the weaknesses of a creature or object you can see.

If the target is a creature, you can spend a charge to turn an attack into a Sneak Attack against a creature that is not otherwise vulnerable to one. If you are already making a Sneak Attack, you can spend a charge to add half the total roll of your Sneak Attack dice to your attack's damage.

If the target is an object, you can make a Perception check to find its weak spots (DC decided by the DM depending on the object). On a success, you know the exact spot where a solid blow will reduce the object to rubble.

Crest of Casting

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a sorcerer)

This round golden badge is decorated with ancient designs and inlaid with jade. Many Crests of Casting exist, each depicting a different discipline of magic.

While attuned to the Crest of Casting, you gain access to a specific Metamagic option if you did not already have it. In addition, its Sorcery Point cost is reduced by 1.

For example, a Crest of Careful Casting allows you to apply the Careful Spell Metamagic option to all spells you cast, for no cost, even if you do not know the Careful Spell option.

Manual of Many Mysteries

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a warlock)

This hideous tome is bound in leather that appears far too fresh. On occasion, you can see the front cover rising and falling, as if it were breathing. Its contents are too horrible to describe... not that that will stop you.

As part of attunement, you must read a section in the book on an Eldritch Invocation you choose, that you do not already know. While you are attuned to the Manual of Many Mysteries, you gain the benefits of that Invocation.

You may change this Invocation by reading a different passage during a short rest, but a single copy of the Manual can only provide you with a single Invocation at a time. The Manual can function as your Arcane Focus.

A creature without the Pact Magic feature that attempts to read the Manual cannot understand anything they read. In addition, they must make a DC 18 Wisdom save or be afflicted with long-term madness (as per the Madness table in the Dungeon Master's Guide).

Remedial Runic Reader

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a wizard)

This book is bound in hardcover lined with velvet. Inside are several useful notes on spellcasting, outlined in easy-to-understand words.

As part of attunement, you must read a section in the book on a school of spellcasting other than the school of your Arcane Tradition. While you are attuned to the Reader, you gain the 2nd- and 6th-level features of that school's Arcane Tradition.

You may change the Arcane Tradition you are dabblign in by reading a different passage during a short rest, but a single copy of the Reader can only provide you with a single Arcane Tradition at a time. The Reader can function as your Arcane Focus.
