Aphadon

Aphadons live in treetop cities deep in the forests of Navandor, emulating human society though they are almost exclusively hunter-gatherers. They look much like apes but are more fit for standing upright, and the types of aphadon range from mighty gorillas to agile chimpanzees.

Aphadon Traits

  • Ability Score Increase. +2 Wisdom.
  • Age. Aphadon mature at the same rate as humans, and generally live for about 80 years.
  • Size. Your size is Medium. Aphadon vary in size based on species, sex and lifestyle, generally ranging from about 5-6 feet in height and 90-220 pounds in weight.
  • Speed. 30 ft.
  • Languages. Common and Sylvan.
  • Natural Climbers. Your climb speed equals your walking speed, and you have advantage on athletics checks involving climbing.
  • Subrace. Choose a subrace below.

Brush

Mostly includes gorillas, baboons and orangutans. These serve as bodyguards, warriors, and other physically demanding jobs, keeping watch over their territories and staying near the ground, often living a simpler life than their cousins.

  • Ability Score Increase. +1 Strength.
  • You're a Big Guy. Gain proficiency in intimidation.
  • Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
  • All Fours. Your walking speed increases by 10 feet when you have your hands free.

Treetop

Mostly includes gibbons, macaques, and chimpanzees. These serve as messengers, scouts and other jobs that make use of their agility and light frame.

  • Ability Score Increase. +1 Dexterity.
  • Acrobatic. Gain proficiency in acrobatics.
  • Prehensile Feet. You can hold and use objects in your feet as though they were hands. You must still have your feet unoccupied to move across ground.
  • Tail. You have advantage on strength saving throws if you're in a tree or other place where you can use your tail to support you. You can also use a bonus action instead of an action to retrieve an item in your backpack or similar.
