Cephalofolk Race

Cephalofolk consist of an odd amalgamation of humanoid and squid anatomy. Instead of having feet, they have a collection of six or eight tentacles sprouting from the bottom of their torso. Their upper bodies are relatively human but the skin is smooth and are a shade of color which changes to camouflage with the background. The hands of cephalofolk are relatively human, but can wriggle like tentacles and are covered with small vestigial suction cups which no longer work. Most noticeably though is that they lack a traditional mouth and instead have a sort of beak leading to a head that is capped like a squid's but attached still to the torso by a human neck.

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2 and your Strength score increases by 1.

Age. Cephalofolk have signifigantly shorter lifespans than most creatures due to their loosely constructed bodies which can't hold up well with old age. Most only live up to 40 years, but they also tend to mature much quicker, typically at about 10 years of age.

Size. You are much larger than most species of octopus, but even then you still aren't as tall as most adult humans. Your size is medium.

Speed. You have a walking speed of 25 ft. and a swimming speed of 35 ft.

Amphibious. Cephalafolk can breathe in both air and water.

Camouflage. Your skin constantly changes colors to match your surroundings, imposing disadvantage on Perception checks made to find you which rely on sight.

Ink Spray. Cephalofolk can spray a stream of ink into an enemy's eyes to interfere with their vision. You may use an action to make a ranged attack roll against a creature within 20 ft. of you. On a hit, the creature is blinded for 1 minute. At the end of every turn the target makes a Constitution saving throw (with a DC equal to 11 + your proficiency bonus), ending the condition on a success.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.

Slippery. You have advantage on saving throws and ability checks against being grappled or restrained.

Tentacles. The tentacles on your lower body are natural weapons which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with one, you deal an amount of bludgeoning damage damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier.

Languages. You know Common, Aquan and one other language of your choice.
