Oath of Silver Flame

The Oath of Silver Flame is a solemn commitment to purge the evil and the rottenness of the world. When the creatures of the night menace to corrupt the purity of all species, the Silver Flame church send its hunters. Every paladin of the Silver Flame church knows that its hands are the instruments of cleansing that the world needs.

Tenets of Silver Flame

The tenets of the Oath of Silver Flame vary by paladin, but all the tenets revolve around purging creatures of the night and eliminating the curse of the earth by any means necessary. Paladins who uphold these tenets are willing to sacrifice even their own righteousness to mete out justice upon those who the Silver Flame recognize as a threat, so the paladins are often lawful in alignment. The core principles of the tenets are brutally simple.

Purge the curse: Lycanthropes, outsiders, undeads and other impure threats need to be destroyed as soon as posible.

Hunt the prey: I'm the sword of the Silver Flame. I must hunt their targets.

By Any Means Necessary: My qualms can't get in the way of exterminating my foes.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Eyes of the Silver Hunter: As an action, you present your holy symbol and whisper a prayer of denunciation, using your Channel Divinity. For the next minute, every creature at 30' that you can see makes a Charisma Saving Throw against your spell DC if it is disguised by supernatural means, like those produced by spells, race traits, curses, or others.

On a fail, you know if the creature that failed is polymorphed, shapeshifted or disguised behind any ilusion or in any supernatural way, its race and its gender.

On a success, that creature knows that you tried to see through its disguise using your power.

This feature does not apply to non magical disguises, it is considered a magical divination, and creatures that succeed the Saving Throw are inmune to it for the next 24hs.

Mark of the Purge: As a bonus action, you can mark a creature you can see within 30 feet of you to be purged by your hand, using your Channel Divinity. You can make an aditional weapon attack as part of your attack action against that creature for 1 minute or until it drops to 0 hit points or falls unconscious.

Purity of the flame

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have advantage ond saving throws against ilusions, curses and any effect that would change the shape of a creature (like polymorph, basilisks Petrifying Gaze, etc) while you are conscious. At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

At any cost

Starting at 15th level, you can use your blood to canalize the Silver Flame power to purge the enemy. When you make a weapon attack, roll any amount of d10 + constitution modifier up to your paladin level. You do extra radiant or fire damage (you choose when you land the hit) and your maximum Hit Points are reduced in the same amount at the end of your action. If the extra damage would be at least 1, you have advantage on that attack roll. Your maximum hit points are restored after a short or long rest.

If your maximum hitpoints would drop bellow 0, they drop to 0 instead and you start making saving throws until are stabiliced or die. If you are stabiliced in this way, your maximum Hit Points increases to 1 after 1d4 hours, and you can use this feature until you finish a long rest.

The silver judgment

At 20th level, as a bonus action you can invoke and ingest a tiny doses of the silver from the Silver Flame. Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest to do it again.

For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • You can cast the Misty Step spell without spending spell slots.
  • You don't need to concentrate on your hex spell and can cast it at its lower level without spending spell slots or material components.
  • You have blindsight 30'.
  • You are under the efects of Eyes of the Silver Hunter feature.
