Multiattack. Zaphiel makes three attacks: two longsword attacks and one virus claw or virus blast attack. Alternatively, Zaphiel can make two virus blast attacks.

Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage, or 9 (1d10 + 4) slashing damage plus 7 (1d8+ 3) necrotic damage.

Virus Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 4) piercing damage plus 7 (1d8+ 3) necrotic damage and the target is marked for 1 minute. If the target is already marked, it takes an additional 7 (1d8+ 3) necrotic damage and must make a DC 8 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, one of its ability scores, chosen randomly, is reduced by 1 and Zephiel gains a Virus Stack.

If the target has its total score reduce by 5 by this effect, it must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target is incapacitated and fails one death saving throw. On a successful save, the target is placed into a coma-like state.

Virus Blast. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (4d6 + 3) necrotic damage and the target is marked for 1 minute. If the target is already marked, it takes an additional 7 (1d8+ 3) necrotic damage

Virus Burst (Recharge 6). Zaphiel slams his claw into the ground, releasing a burst of the Dark Star Virus. Each creature within 20 feet of him must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 27 (6d8) necrotic damage and is marked for 1 minute. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and isn't marked.

Virus Burst (Recharge 5-6). Zaphiel slams his claw into the ground, releasing a burst of the Dark Star Virus. Each creature within 25 feet of him must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 45 (10d8) necrotic damage and is marked for 1 minute. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and isn't marked.

Reactions

Virus Claw Parry. Zaphiel adds 3 to his AC against one melee attack that would hit him. To do so, Zaphiel must see his attacker. Additionally, the attacker is marked for 1 minute.

Virus Blast. Ranged Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) necrotic damage and the target is marked for 10 minute. If the target is already marked, it takes an additional 12 (2d6+6) necrotic damage and each creature within 10 feet must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take 12 (2d6+6) necrotic damage.

Virus Burst (Recharge 5-6). Zaphiel slams his claw into the ground, releasing a burst of the Dark Star Virus. Each creature within 30 feet of him must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 67 (15d8) necrotic damage and is marked for 10 minute. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and isn't marked.

Virus Claw Parry. Zaphiel adds 5 to his AC against one melee attack that would hit him. To do so, Zaphiel must see his attacker. Additionally, the attacker is marked for 10 minute. If the target is already marked, it takes 12 (2d6+ 6) necrotic damage.

Legendary Actions

Zaphiel can take 3 legendary actions. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Zaphiel regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Attack Zaphiel can make one Virus Scythe, Virus Claw, or Virus Blast attack.

Virus Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions) Zaphiel beats his wings. Each creature within 10 ft. of Zaphiel must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 10 (1d4 + 8) bludgeoning damage plus 12 (2d6+ 6) necrotic damage and and be knocked prone. Zaphiel can then fly up to half his flying speed.
