Strength Requirements

Each weapon has a minimum Strength requirment in order to wield the weapon effectively. A creature, who is wielding a weapon in which they do not meet the minimum Strength requirment, has disadvantage on attack rolls with that weapon.

  • Simple weapons have a minimum Strength requirement of 11.
  • Martial weapons have a minimum Strength requirement of 13.
  • Light weapons have their minimum Strength requirement reduced by 2.
  • Finese weapons have their minimum Strength requirement reduced by 2.
  • Heavy weapons have their minimum Strength requirement increased by 6.
  • Wielding a weapon in two hands reduces the minimum Strength requirement by 4 unless the weapon has the two-handed property.
