Incite Rage

Also at 3rd level, you can sing songs of valor that incite a battle rage in the hearts of those who hear it.

As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your bardic inspiration to incite a creature that can see and hear you into a rage. An unwilling creature must make a Charisma saving throw equal to your spell save DC, or be effected. A creature who has been incited to rage gains the following benefits if they aren't wearing heavy armor:

  • You gain temporary hit points equal to the skalds bardic inspiration die.
  • You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll.
  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

If you are able to cast spells, you can't cast them or concentrate on them while raging.

While under the effects of this rage you feel compelled to rush headlong into battle.

The rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven't attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. A creature incited to rage must take a long rest before they can do so again.
