Edgelords

In the dark recesses of the ethereal plane there exists a realm known as the Nether. The edgelord is a wayward denizen of hailing from that damned realm, seekign to sow discord and bring ruin the likes of which has never been experienced by any sane mind.

Being a being of discord, the edgelord seeks to cause as much pain and suffering as possible, doing so by the vector of thought rather than through physical means. the edgelord, despite its self important name, is a mere triffle, often found and crushed by rational people. However, it thrives in darkness, takes succor from ignorance, and congregates with other edgelords, hoping for the coming of the edgelord king.

Detestable. An edgelord is abbravie and self aggrandizing, often given to fits of uncontrolable justification of whatever terrible idea it might purport to advocate. Whetever its intention, it is often simply to hurt.

Insufferable. Few can stand to be around the edgelord, but they often install themselves in places where they cannot easily be removed, such as under bridges, from high towers, deep caves, and from scrying pools where they can attempt to leverage their disdain from afar.

Insignificant Edgelords are ultimately insignificant, but are dangerous in large crowds. They have been known to band together to defeat targets much larger than themselves, but can often be disbanded or ignored easily. They are only a true danger when led by a more powerful creature that can lend them legitimacy, or when being goaded by an enraged crowd.

Misanthrope. When evoking negative emotions or reactions, the edgelord's negative ability modifiers instead act as bonuses. The edgelords statistics reflect this.

Solipsistic. When engaged by an opponent that wields one of the edgelord's weaknesses, it's AC is only 10, and it loses any benefit of the Misanthrope ability for 1d4 rounds.

Actions

Provoke. The edgelord makes a provocative statement. Any creature that reads or listens to it must make a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 3 (1d6) psychic damage. If this attack reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but stunned for 1 minute.

Direct Message (1/day). The edgelord selects a target, using a focused and horrid invective. The target must make a DC 8 Intelligence saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 7 (2d6) psychic damage, or half as much on a success. A creature that successfully saves against this attack cannot be affected by it again for 1 year, or until the creature decides to willingly re-engage the edgelord.

Reactions

Perfect Retreat. When attacked or negatively affected, the edgelord can disengage as a reaction. When it does so, it can ignore any attack or negative effect that triggered the reaction. This reaction cannot be performed if an attack or effect is using the edgelord's vulnerability.
