Welcome to Darem

Come weary traveler, to an ancient and mistical land where you will encounter fierce Warriors, powerful Magicians, cunning Rouges, and monsterous creatures of all kinds. Fear not, however, for their are also many here that mean you no harm, but can you diseren friend from foe?

Myth and magic are woven into the very heart of this place as the words of the gods echo in the very rocks, rivers and trees in t world of Darem.

In the Begining...

Eons ago, Ancora, the mother goddess emereged from the great darkness known to all as Erebus, the embodiment of evil and destruction. Once Ancora came into being, Erebus sought to destroy her before she could make another but he could not defeat her.

She soon created a stone that she called Darem, and she granted it the gift of life. Darem cracked open and made a cavern out of which Dagda , the all father arose. When she saw this, Ancora cried with joy. Her tears filled all of Darem except the place where Dagda stood. Seeing this she came down to him and together they blessed this spot giving it the name, Tir Na Nog. Grass began to grow from the land under their feet and spread to every edge of Tir Na Nog as well as flowers and trees, fruits and veggitables though it was still dark.

Next they called the land to rise from the depths and covered the hills, dales, and fields with veggitation. Seeing this creation, Erebus reached down but could not strike the scared island. Out of fear, they retreated into the cavern from which Dagda came and hid in The Otherworld, the land of magic and plane of the gods and select heroes and immortals. Inside this world, magic and the elements combined and created the Fey who spread out and enhabited the world. Also came the elves. The Eladrin chose to stay in Tir Na Nog, then also came the Wood Elves who retreated into many of the forests of the world. Some Eladrin and Wood Elves even had children together known as High Elves.

In the Otherworld, Dagda and Ancora laid together. On May 1st, she gave birth to a son, Belenos, god of thecurative poweres of the sun. His festival of Beltane, when bonfires are lit to welcome in the Summer and encourage the Sun’s warmth.

In celebration, Dagda created an Ash tree that grew until it swallowed up all that is , and he called it Yggdrasil .

Belenos lit up the sky and Erebus shrieked in horror.

Then the forest let out a breathe and out of a great oak came Cernunnos, god of animals, the forest, oaks and hunting. He had the face, ears and legs like that of a deer, the torso of a man and six horns on his head. Two antlers, two rams horns and two small pointed horns. He cut open his hand and the drops of blood became all the animals of the forest and also humans, dwarves and gnomes. The dwarves saw the sun was too bright and moved into coolness of the caverns below in the otherworld. (Dwarves and Gnomes have Darkvision and 35ft vision in daylight)

Ancora reached into the sea and the tide began to rise and out of the foam, arose Mazu, goddess of the sea who reached out her hand and created all the creatures of the sea. Mazu gave birth to Zues, Posiden and Vulcan who were gods of lightning, the oceans and valcanos/islands respectivly. Mazu also created the dragon kings of the world, Lóngshén the Dragon King, Dragon king of Storms and the weather Ao Guang, Dragon King of the East Sea, Ao Qin, Dragon King of the South Sea, Ao Run, Dragon King of the West Sea, and finally Ao Shun, Dragon King of the North Sea. They are the four directions and control the rain and waters in their own sections of the world.

They gave birth to the dragons of the world, who in turn, gave birth to the races of Dragonborn.

Many more gods came from this lineage and also many creatures and other races. Too many to add here, but I beleive this to be a gernerous depiction of the gods.

Belenos and Aurora (Dawn) gave birth to Amaterasu, Ra, Sol, Inti and Apollo .

History of Darem

The Birth of Death

As the world was coming into being, Erebus was watching from the void for his chance to strike and destroy all that is and make creations of his own. His first act of creation was the birth of his first three children from his own soul, Achlys and Apep and Lyssa.

One day Erebus had Apep attack Belenos and Aella in order to distract them so he could enter Darem unnoticed and he did causing all to go dark just long enough for Erebus to reach it.

Erebus disguised himself as Dagda and with Ancora, conceived Death. Erebus revealed his true self to the horror of Ancora and the world as all living things began to fall and die as they aged. This pleased Erebus and now nothing was safe from Death eexcept for those of the Otherworld. Erebus escaped into the night and spread his will across Darem.

Though Death was born of an evil act it was not evil itself but rather neutral, named Muerta Death comes to all and cannot help but to kill any it touches but can be held by its mother. One day Death came to Ancora and pleaded for a resolve from ending life and so she created a rip in time and space where the dead could go now called the afterlife. She made a proclomation amongst the gods that they would be responable for their own followers after they died and to create a place for them or allow them to return, in time.

Achlys and Vulcan came together and gave birth to Hades, Hel and Set gods of the dead and the underworld.

Erebus skulked in the shadows until he found Humans whom he first corrupted as they were easily seduced and then slowly moved through the world infecting it with his will.

A thousand years later, wars broke out among the races of the land as nature was thrown into chaos. This slowly grew until after a thousand years of peace and balance between the gods, the gods had been corrupted by evil until the whole of Darem felt their pain. This began the Great War of the Gods, which lasted for twenty years.

The War of the Gods

In these battles, Dagda was defeated by Erebus who wanted to make an example of him and ripped out his eye. Unbeknownst to Erebus, this gave Dagda the ability to see the future, obtain rare knowledge and peer into other realms making him a god of magic, poetry, art and guidance of the dead. Demons came out of Erebus and tore at Dagda until he burned them with magical fire and drove them and Erebus away from that battlefield and to the west. Dagda then decided among those who died, which deserve a place in Valhalla. Then he called down the Valkyries to fulfil his will, who appeared as winged sheild maidens made of the fog of war.

Two wolves came up to Dagda and protected him from his enemies. Dagda named them Geri and Freki, then he sent out his memory and thoughts to the feild and they became two ravens that rested on his shoulder and spear. He named them Hugin and Munin and gave himself a new name, Odin.

He sent his new ravens out to relay information to him and gave them the power to travel to the other realms so that he may learn more.

In the West, Belenos was killed by Erebus who broke the bow of Belenos and blocked his light from the world with his darkness and threw him into the Western Mountain. His body became a golden ball of light that dissapated as his blood seeped into the rock and created the gold veins within. Ra took up his father’s bow, which he made into a staff, and sheild and beat back Erebos and Apep. Apep vowed revenge and refused to stop hunting Ra down as he fled into the night.

The earth shattered at the loss of the sun and broke into 7 peices causing Ancora to enter the feild of battle, her gown becoming a gold, red and brown and slowly turning black and grey with dispare. Lyssa swept through the battlefields infecting all that could not resist her with insanity and rage until she departed from them, leaving only missery in her wake for Achlys to feed on. Sensing the agony of her loss, Lyssa touched Ancora who went into a frenzy. Ancora became a flock of ravens that covered the fields attacking all in her wake and in the icy wind you could hear her voice calling out “I am the Morrigan, I am your goddess, now bow!”. She swept through the field causeing all to fall to their knees just before death as they cried out. Blood ran down there faces as rain fell like tears from the mother’s broken heart. Plants began to fade and die, as the sky became cold and dark. The ravens came together and returned into The Morrigan who’s eyes turned red almost black from the blood soaked earth. She demanded a season of mourning for all and for three months she faded as it began to snow, mourning for her lost son until she was wizend and frail. After the loss of his first son, and seeing the death his wife had wrought, Odin also aged and went into the north, turning over all his power and authority over nature, fertility and the forest to Cernnanos. The air was bitterly cold as plants died and trees laid bare. Then the Morrigan went to sleep in the earth. Finally, all the gods came together and hunted down Erebus and trapped him inside a mountain of obsidian, never to infect the world again.

The Age of Heroes

After decades of war among the gods, the faith of the world had crumbled. The sun hadn not risen in nearly five years and this time they now call Winter, had lasted for just as long, it would seem that hope was all but lost and depression had conquered the world. The only food was meat and ale, no one had seen fruit or vegetables in so long they had forggoten the taste.

Dark Innocence

The eternal winter and darkness had griped the world for nearly three years when the hero known as Thune Anari and the wandering monk know as Lee were fated to meet. Each had been wandering the world and had seen so much death by exsposure and the elements that it had almost become common place.

They each came upon the smoldering village of Timoor, Thune from the north and Lee from the East. As they entered they could hear a child crying into the night. They came to the collapsed and smuldering hut it was surly buried under. Still hearing the screams, Thune searched for a jug near the home and magically filled it with water. He dumped it onto the burning wood as Lee moved more and more debris from the pile to reveal the burned child underneath, dripping from the poured water.

Using a healing word, Thune cured the burned child of most of her wounds. It was then that Lee took her to an abandoned house that had a hole in the roof. He laid her near the fireplace and started a fire made of the sheets on a bed nearby. It began to snow and Thune covered her with a blanket from his pack. Finally, Lee and Thune introduced eachother and became fast friends as the sleeping girl made noises as though having a nightmare. It was then that Lee heard a low gutteral noise. Thune left to investigate as Lee stayed behind to tend to the girl. Thune and looked and saw the Horned Devil a little way down a road, eating a villager.

It snarled at him and spoke in a terrible voice heard both in his and Lee's heads. Though Thune could not understand, Lee told him that the demon claimed this village as his prize, which was promised to him. Seeing this as an offence, they Thune attacks like a great storm and the Demon attacks in kind, herling a ball of fire. At this, Lee comes to his friend's aid and through dodging and attacking, the heroes seemed to be winning the battle until Thune was struck in the back bu some dark magic.

The strike came from the little girl. They turned around and saw her floating a few feet above the ground as she covered herself in a magical sheild of protection. Thune struck down the demon by calling lightning from the skys and Lee beating it with his fists, leaving only a scortched mark on the ground leaving the creature's stinger and a few other pieces. The little girl strikes again and she is stabbed as she tries to retreat. They heal her and ask why she was attacking and she claims she was defending her friend, or what she thought the demon was. When she had been raped by her father she called out to the gods for help and the goddess Lyssa came to her and showed her how to get revenge on her father and power for herself. In this she makes a bargain with the horned demon, Morgoth,to devour her father and give her power to defend herself.

The demon does as she asks but then goes about and destroys the village. When she tries to use her new power agains it, she is knocked into a small house and burned alive.

They heal her of her wounds and send her inside. They introduce eachother and she tries to kill herself in the fireplace. They heal her and Lee offers for her to follow them. After they scold her for her actions and tell her to never work with demons, she passes out agian. They stay with her until she is rested and healed then take her to the next village a few days away and leave her at the orphanage in the village of Erin. She kissed them on the cheek each and when asked her name by the head mistress, she declared herself to be Moira Lee Thune as the two heroes continue on for the next two and a half years.

After a year of dark nightmares and thanking the gods for the heroes whom saved her life and gave her a second chance, she was blessed by Ancora with the gift of creation and is now a 12 year old Healer who works for the betterment of the Village of Eren.

To keep herself safe, she sent the demon’s spike to a well known craftsman and wizard, named Greyson Lillywicket. When he sends it back, its a blade of devistation that if needed, she can cause major damage, Morgoth's Stinger.

The Colleseum of Tir Na Nog

Five years after the begining of Winter started, everyone in the world fell asleep at the same time and woke up to the smell of flowers on the wind.

Here we met our four heroes of the wars; the assassin-deep gnome known to his enemies as the Scarecrow, the mercinary turned Cleric and harbinger of Storms, Thune Anari, the high wizard, gnome Greyson Lillywicket and the wandering monk simply known as Lee.

Outside they heard people talking in the village, the wind blowing through the trees and children playing outside. No one was more 30 and all were happy. A few people were even touching each other's faces in amazement. Most of what they assumed were the locals, were Eladrin elves, known to be the oldest and rarest race of the elves. There are more and more people were coming from the nearby huts around them. As they left the huts they found some people they knew including Moira and gained valuable information from the locals about what was going on.

...............In an effort to rekindle their influence, the gods built a grand arena for an unknown purpose_..........

They head to the colleseum in the east where an assassin tries to attack Greyson but is foiled by Scarecrow. The would be assassin throws it at scarecrow and it devolves into dust. Then an eladrin guard announces that none shall be harmed here. They enter and standing on a platform made of stone are a few of the gods.

Ancora, the mother goddess, announces that the sun has again been reborn and hold a golden glowing orb into the air and everyone cheers. She hands it over to Ra and the holds it up and it floats above his head before Lyssa appears and tells Ancora about Ra helping to kill Bel. Ancora blocks out the sun and Ra is gone. Then Hermes is called forward to bring forth Apollo who puts it on like a metal.

Next the gods announce that their chosen few were to fight eachother in the arena. Thune, Lee, Scarecrow, Hercules and Greyson all appear in the grand arena and each attack eachother. The gods subtley interfere, creating a storm that the dragon god , Longshen eventually disperesed. Then the tree eants in the arena eventually merged together, killing Hercules in a grusom spray, crushing him between the merging trees. Finally they combined to form a dive headed hydra.

Thune and Lee made the crowd cheer with their displays of power as did Greyson who practically incinerated the entire field with Scarecrow causing chaos woth his tossed golden apple giving Thune and Greyson's conjured elemental, the gift of future soght and increased knowledge. The hydra too swallowed whole, the apple and so did not gain its power. Finally the scarecrow snuck up and killed the hydra with a final strike from his ethereal bow, bringing down the terrible beast. Then Lyssa created a great fog that filled the area and everyone was brought to the gods.

All were given one wish, Scarecrow asked for the riches for 4 the next generations. Greyson asked to be immortal to learn forever. Thune was able to see his mother who had passed, and had become a minor goddess, a muse. He asked to become a god of storms and Longshen's harald who controls raging storms and the rain. Lee asks for a bottle of never ending wine as he accomplished his goal in life. Athena granted his wish saying "You shall receive what you have asked for and will live forever on Mount Olympus." In doing so he became a god of wine and patron to all those in need of rest after their labors.

After the arena, as a symbol of peace to the world, Ancora called the king of birds to herself. He spread his wings wide and bowd down to accept this great honor. She created a golden, slow moving fire in her hand and announced that this is the light of peace and hope in the world and gave it to all of Darem as a sign of good will from the gods and all who worship them.

She touched the large bird and its body absorbed the flames. Its eyes lit up like stars and it doubled in size to that of a large eagle. It sang out the most beautiful song any had ever heard and the hearts of all softened. At this she gave it a new name, [[Phoenix | Phoenix]]. The plants came forth from the earth, the waters cleared and everyone's wounds healed. It flew into the sky and flapped its firey wings and a great light engulfed them all and the wold was at peace.

Changing the World

After the events of the Colleseum, Greyson was privileged to visit the Eladrin library and learn all he could about magic, history and the world in which he lived. With his new found knowledge he traveled back to his home town that had been razed to the ground in his younger days and saw that it was filled with fruits, vegitables and grain, abundent it wildlife and clean water, just as the gods had promised. Over the course of time, he founded the city of Greyson. In the center of this now grand city he built the wizard's college, Andromeda where he left his now aged apprentice as headmaster Esco Highbranch III as he left the city to spread his knowledge with the rest of the world.

Moira, The Healer

In Greyson's travels through Avaloc, he again met up with Moira Lee Thune, the young girl who was brought to The Village of Erin by the heroes that she named herself after. Now as a young woman, she was known as a powerful healer followed by a black wolf. The wolf, as she told, was the guardian star, Sirius who came to her to teach her the secrets of plants and minerals that she could use to heal others. Knowing Greyson's reputaion and his thirst for knowelege, she pleaded with him to help her to create a school for healers to improve the lives of the people's of the world. He knew her reputation as a healer after curing and stopping a plague that threatened to wipe out that area of the world. His price of his help was to learn these secrets of what Sirius called Medicine and so they agreed. Working together they developed the first Potion of Healing.

After years of training others as phasicians and medics and also teaching sanitation, Moira helped to remove disease and sickness from the majority of the developed lands.

Seeing this as she aged, her patrons Lee and Thune came to her and told her how proud they were of her life and what she had done for the world and asked what she wanted in return for her efforts. She simply asked to rest and become one with the earth that she had so long worked from. She also asked that her students would remain safe and so they and Sirius blessed her and she began to feel tired as they dissapeared into the light of the dawn. She could smell the roses in her garden behind the newly constructed hospital and laid down to rest on the green moss atop a large stone. There she closed her eyes and let her spirit free. It is said that the ancient garden behind this building, sprung to life as she passed away, containing every healing herb, tree and flower known and even some with unknown uses along with many minerals and crystals that have appeared in the area since that day. This is the Garden of Moira with a statue in the center of the woman with a large dog sitting by her side. She will be forever remembered for her great deeds and love for others.

Shrine of Moira

To this day many people come to this shrine in hopes that she may hear and heal them, their loved ones or even their land. It is widely believed that after her death, she was not sent to the afterlife but was made into a goddess by the god Lee for her work and is now seen as a goddess of healing, protection and teaching. No one knows for sure what happened, but you may find charms near homes, farms and on jewelry as symbols of a dog, a woman with a staff, or both hoping to encourage their protection, particularly in the City of Erin and the surrounding countryside.

The Hidden Archer

In the caverns of a deep gnome settlement Greyson openly laughed at the statue that had been erected there for "the hidden archer" who dealt the final blow that destroyed the fearsome hydra. Younger gnomes would crowd around Greyson and wait to hear his tales of all he had done but were always eager to hear more about the Hidden Archer that he called The Scarecrow. They didn't seem to like the name and thought he was only trying to besmirch their hero.

Unknown to this generation, their hero was the imfamous assassin known as The Scarecrow. He had rebuilt the once disperesed Assassin's Guild with a small portion of his vast wealth. He ended up having many children with many Deep Gnomes and Forest Gnomes alike. After generations of children with gnomes, many of his ancestors caught the attention of the elves whose children are simply known as Drow. Dark Elves seemed more fit and beautiful than the deep gnomes and more mysterious and suited for the Caverns below that the Deep Gnomes eventually became bred out and replaced by this new race. They are contiually in disputes with dwarves in the Cavers that they signed a treaty with them where they split the Caverns into two sections. Over time the Drow had made a tunnel leading under the Golden Sea and onto an Island where they stored all the treasures that were gathered from assassin contracts and the holy treasure of their forefather, Kurejo Darkstone and the legendary Bow of Kurejo. The ancient artifact was lost eons ago by Torin Arkenstone, who was killed by the great dragon that had been drawn to the trove. It is believed that the bow and treasure still lay within the keep. None have been able to retrieve it. Torin's daughter now leads the assassin's guild, a strong proud Drow who can trace her lineage directly to the Hidden Archer himself. She is Cora Arkenstone. Beautiful and deadly, she is a queen amoung killers and rumour has it, she also has the key to the keep seeking anyone to find the weapon and restore what was once hers. Even in this age there are whispers of the newly found power of the assassins guild, that through Kurejo, they were given an inhereted gift by his goddess, Lyssa.

As a swift action, In a quick swirl of black smoke and the sound like a light breeze, the assassin can disappear for 1 round per level. This ability functions as Invisibility. This can be used only once per long rest.

Thune, God of Rain and Storm

After two thousand years had passed and the goddess, Moira had been established, there lived a young maiden by the name of Abigail. As a young girl she had the feeling that she could only learn about her goddess by living in the forest. After many years she returned and with her new found knowledge, she became a high priestess of Moira and was considered the most beautiful of all the land of Erin. One day she was bathing in a lagoon near the Coven Gulf where, the god Thune saw her and fell madly in love her. She turned and their eyes met, and she knew who he was at a glance.

He moved toward her and she recoiled, pulling out the fearsome dagger, Morgoth's Stinger. He lifted his hands and appologized for his rudeness but continued to tell her how lovely she was and that he has never seen anyone as beautiful as her in all his days and that if she would have him, he wished to make her his bride. She dropped the dagger into the gentle waves and created a cloud of fog to cover herself. Suddenly, a storm cloud appeared and a lightning bolt struck Thune in the chest, launching him into the coast. Out of the cloud came the god Zeus, who had also seen the young maiden bathing and wished to take her for himself. He tried to move toward her but she continued to strike at him unwilling to search for the dagger as he came closer. She finally reached shore and tripped. Zeus, hot on her heals reached out to grab her and was launched by a lightning bolt from Thune. He told her to hurry and hide. She did. Thune's body became that of a great silver dragon. He rose his head to the sky and when he opened his mouth not a roar, but the sound of thunder came out.Zeus became afraid for the first time, he threw his bolt in the air and created a great storm. Thune disapated it, then flapped his wings and created a storm aimed at zues, and Zues disapated it. They fought all night each injuring the other, and destroying many fishing boats and the harbor until Thune drew close enough in human form and reflected back Zues' attack sending him flying into the sea and declaring Thune the winner.

Abigail went to Thune, head low seeing the destruction that was caused because of her, and wept. She admitting that he won the right to take her. He covered her and told her that he did not fight to take her, but to defend her honor against this rapest of a god saying that she was far too rare a find to ever do such a thing. She blushed and pulled him in and kissed him on the shore.

They spoke under the moonlight for hours and each night when she was done with her duties at the temple until. For the next year, Thune remained in human form and helped the villagers repair the damage the he had caused, swearing that this village will become a bustling port when their through.

After a year, Thune and Abigail grew to truly love eachother and they were happy. Later that spring, with permission of the mother, Ancora and Moira herself, Thune the god of the rain and storm and Abigail High Priestess of Moira, were married.

They made love that night and she conceived a child, whom she named James Anari. The family lived in Coven for decades as Thune would return from his duties and dote upon his loving family, with the village celebrating each time. The people of Thune's hometown loved the trio and would even ask to bless the young child as he played in the sea. As he grew he became a strong man, gifted with intelligence, power and a kind heart and over time showed that he could take the form of a golden dragon, which Thune taught him how to control and use his abilities.

One evening after Thune and James had been working at sea, a great storm came in and riding on the clouds above was Zeus carrying a great silver container. Zues opened the container and sucked up Thune in a whirlwind and into the container. James flew as hard as he could at Zues and burned him as he left, dropping the container into the ocean. James retreaved it but when he got to shore, realized that even with his great strength he could not open it. Abigail wept for the loss of her husband and the village wept for the loss of their god. Over time, the village did grow as Thune had promised but the whispers and comments of the other citizens mader Abigail feel unwated and James didn't want to leave her alone so they left the village in search of someone who could release Thune from his prison but as time went on, James gave up hope but Abigail refused when she had a vision from Moira that their saviors would come from Dagda's Seat. So they moved to the forest in hopes that the procecy will come true. Over the next twenty years, four sets of people come out of this gate, and all are killed by the agents of Lord Veato, a tyrant and new ruler of Greystone who beleives that all magic users should join his army and serve him alone. Any who disobey are cut down along with any non magical peoples who wander into this world. In the last decade he has taken control of death itself and changed who she is. No one feels safe anymore and death can come from anywhere. Maybe these foretold heroes of Thune are destined for more than Abigail thought.

The World of Darem

The pages thus far tell of how a few became forebarers of the world you will soon come to know as Darem, though there is still more to tell. Here is how the modern age has come to be.

Caledonia

Between the Mazu and Longshen Oceans lays the island continent of Avaloc. It is not far from the land of Tir Na Nog, where the gods first created the world.

Description:

The ruling city is Greystone, once the home of Greyson the famed wizard, now a city scape of walls within walls. Three rings of stone seperate the classes, accessable only by a gate in rotating directions. First the outer ring, walls covered with archers, mages and guards at all times.

A New Begining

Halloween night just after 6pm, 2017, Earth. The weather is cool with a cloudy sky. Kari , Ashrael and Kingston are all in the common area. There's a piano in the corner and different students practicing their drama and acting skills, some playing pool or board games and others simply watching tv. You hear a loud buzzing sound coming from the tv as a report comes on the news.

"This is a special report bulletin!: Studens and parents are being asked to stay indoors this halloween as the masked serial killer known only as Happy, is still on the lose. Be advised that anyone seen by police tonight dressed as this masked clown is to be shot on site. Though the measure enforced by the mayor is extreme, Police Commissioner Gavin says it is nessisary. (As it cuts to a tall gruff man with a white mustache, and in his late fifties, standing at a podeum in city hall) "As many of you know this killer is wanted for the murder of 6 individuals in as many weeks. This killer seems to have no preference as to whom attacks or kills. With this in mind, we strongly advise all citizens to stay in their homes, with the doors locked and leave this mater to the proper authoraties. Thank You."

You all know that campus police presence has risen in the last few weeks and tensions are high as this evening approaches. Anyone seen dressed as a clown this halloween will be shot on site.

Ashreal tells Kari to wait inside as he sees someone in a clown mask dragging a clearly drunk girl behind the building across the way, through the window. On his way out he tells Kingston to watch his back as they head out the door.

In the dark, Kari can hear the screams of the young woman. She sprints out the back door with the others and there they find their proffesor, Lenus Johnson, attacking the man and chases him into the woods. As they go down a hill, Kingston launched a football that hits him behind his knees and knocks him down, summersaulting head first, between the trees and into a clearing with a thud.

A thick fog begins setting in until they can no longer see. They hear him moan and chase him through the fog until it clears and the group find themselves in the middle of a foriegn forest with a clear sky.

They emerge from a great arch way in the middle of a midnight forest.

Suddenly, Ashreal dodges a blade wielded by the man in the clown mask but Lenusis stabbed. They hear a low growling and then a large Wolf head appears out of the darkness, bites into the stranger and drags him into the shadows screaming. A large sickly red bird, the size of a turkey waddles by carrying a few sticks in its mouth.

The arch crumbles behind them at the base of a mountain face , souds like thunder coming from beyond the peaks.

To the north is a faint green light, like that of a candle. When they get closer, Kari tells them that it is a will-o-the-wisp. It can lead you to your fate as Lenus announces that it may also lead to death. In the end , they deside to follow it. as they come nearer, it disapears and a new one apears nearly 100 yards away.

They pass by many trees, and some that even shimmer a light green in the moon light.

Kingston and Kari climb into a tree to try to find where they are. A pair of wolves approach the group and discover that many of them have magical abilities here. Lenus creates a large, skeletal hand that freezes one wolf with fear as Kingston shoots it with a fireball.

Eventually the wolves run away and the group move to a light they had seen in the distance from the tree. As they approach, they hear the sound of a crackling fire and flute playing.

From there they see the silohuette of Sara playing the flute dancing around the fire as, Alvero the vampire, Adam the werewolf who drugg off the masked man, and Jozeph a pyromancer are sitting around the fire cheering. After learning that they had all only been in this world for a couple of hours and did not know where to go, they decide to work together. Sara offers them tents for the night and they all sleep for the night as Alvero and Adam keep watch over the camp after Sara puts crystals around the camp and casts a protection spell. The bird drops the sticks and sleeps for the night on Ashrael's feet.

In the morning Adam tells the group of a house and stone bridge up the river not far from camp. They may be able to find a place to stay. They all realize that Alvero is missing. Jozeph is cooking fish in his hand and Kingston copies him as well as the mage hand that Lenus had used.

Adam turns into werewolf almost instantly and takes off to the north. The group follows his tracks and they see a bear eating the remains of the clown near the edge of the river. Kingston trys to scare it off and it comes charging at them. Kari dissapears into the bushes and when it gets close enough she jumps through the air and stabs it in the back. Lenus put the bear to sleep and head north up river.

While they travel up river they see a tree walking past them, a treant.

Finally they arrive as the large bird drops its sticks onto a large pile outside and they are greeted by Alvero who welcomes everyone in. Inside everyone including Adam are greeted by an elderly woman, easily in her eighties. She squints as she looks upon you as though not being able to see well. She introduces heself as Abigail Williams and the large man by her is James. She offers everyone something to eat and free lodging.

The bird is huddled next to the fire by a large black dog with glowing white eyes.

She has 10 bowls of stew already placed at a couple wooden tables not far from the fire place. She casts a spell to make it look dark outside and sleep to send everyone to bed.

That night everyone is woken by loud thunder outside as a woman yells out, “You know why I’m here Abigail! Give them to me and you won’t be harmed.”

Outside the bird was still building the pile of brush and plants , which has grown by about three feet and lays down on the pile.

You leave my guests alone! They are no threat to you or your master. “

Muerte raises her hands and the earth begins to move around her as the ground and rocks split. Hands begin popping out of the soil around the inn.

“You remember these guests, don’t you?” Undead corpses move in toward the group and they soon dispatch of them though they are gravely injured.

Kira throws Lenus' knife and stabs it into her the woman in black. She screams in pain and moaning and shreaks come from within her wounds. Kira then stabs her in the neck with the same result. She looks at her and her eyes sink in like a skull. Ashrael and Kira charge at the woman and she touches them both on the head. Black smoke comes out of their eyes and into their mouths and their bodies collapse.

Then the woman goes over to Lenus and tries to convince him to join her and her master because he has such potential. As a small gift to show what he could receive from them, she blesses him as a Fallen Aasimar.

James returns in the form of a dragon and gives Kingston a dragon tooth that cut him and he becomes one of the dragonborn.

Kari and Ashrael meet again in the underworld and Anubis releases them to return to the world of the living, because it is not their time yet. Kira's body is covered in sand and pulled into the earth and then is risen as an Anubite, one of the race of creatures who have been touched by the god Anubis.

The bird tries to drag Ashrael but can't move him. Kingston picks up his body and launches him across the yard and into the pile that the bird has been making. After getting there itself, it opens its wings and flaps making a pillar of flame that engulfs them both. The flames dissapate and floating above it is the newly reborn Phoenix and emerging from the ashes is Ashrael now with feathers coming from his wrists, ankles, wings and white hair.

The Phoenix tells him, inside his mind that he has been chosen to carry on the light of life when the Phoenix ultimately dies as long as he is willing to do so as a symbol of peace, then like a shooting star, the phoenix shoots out of site.

Abby says that they have a lot to do . They must train in order to defeat what is coming and they will be taught by their new teachers. Ashreal asks who that would be as Jozeph raises his hand with a fireball in it and exclaims with a smile" This is going to be fun!"

Abigail's Plight

They were given one whole day to relax and ease your minds and bodies. It had been two weeks since that day and the sun began to rise, finally light begins to pour over the mountain peaks to the east onto the forest below. The leaves in the trees are mostly gone, mist is beginning to burn off and water drips onto the forest floor.

About a mile to the north are miniature explosions and yelling. Blades clashing and fires flying through the air and sizzling against the soaked area.

Here is where the heroes battled at the Ruined Temple of Athene Noctua. The fabled home of the god Lee until fate called him to a higher purpose. This, at least is something they learned about in the last few weeks. Abigail thought this would be a safer area to train than destroying her land.

Here the four battle against their teachers in an all out battle. Fire flying and dragon roars with a werewolf hunting down opponants. All goes as planned until James, the Ancient Golden Dragon unleashes a great fire blast at Kingston who nearly dies from the hit. James breaks a piece off of the dragon tooth he had given Kigston and puts it into Kingston’s mouth and forces him to chew it up. Suddently he wakes up and is fully healed.

At the same time Kari noticed a small door at the base of a large broken statue and kicks it open. Inside she finds a dark tunnel and after calling for the others, travels inside.

Down a ladder, they arrive in an ancient chamber. Above, the entrance collapses and they are trapped inside as Jozeph yells down that they will find another way in.

As they travel, they come across a ghost from Lee’s time as a monk. Rather than trying to defeat the creature they convince her that the artifact she thought was lost, had indeed been returned to Athena by Lee himself. After, she offers to help them find a way out. They are lead through the labrinth by the spirit who possesses the goblins and hobgoblins down the path to safety, as they collect gold and a silver raven totem along the way, until they escaped into the forest greeted by their teachers.

James shows Ashrael how to activate it and how to use it as they travel back to Abigail’s house where she is sitting in her rocking chair, Sirius keeping watch at the gate and moving through the shadows. She greets them asking how the training went and after the discussion she determines that their basic training is over and they may now head into town if they’d like, as they now know enough to traverse this world without being discovered as foreginers.

In the morning, you may head to Glas and aquire better equipment if you’d like. She hands them each 25GP. Now I am feeling very weary, please excuse me children. I must get to rest. (She looks at the “teachers” and says, thank you for your service now rest and know you have accomplished more than you know.

She waves her hand and they all dissapate into a silvery purple light and disappear entirly. James waves his hand, signaling for silence and walks her up the stairs followed by Sirius and when he comes back he tells them that they were sent back to where they came from. From their perspective, they were simply haveing a recurring dream. When they slept here, they woke up there. You on the other hand, are here physically. We can not send you back so easily.

At any rate, Mo… I mean Abigail, is not doing well at all. I must stay here and take care of her but I must ask you to go to the city of Erin and retrieve a drop of an extremely rare potion that is kept only their. It is called the Flame of Life and it will not only heal her but give her the time she needs to find a way to open that damned thing. (As he points at a large, corroded, Silver Urn about a foot tall, above the fireplace.)

Right now, she doesn’t have time to give you the whole story but if you help her, I will tell you everything you wish to know. I don’t know how much time she has, maybe a few months to a few weeks but please. Do whatever it takes.

Remember, those in Erin are very secretive about this potion, you’ll have to get them to trust you and make sure you have no ill intent. You won’t be able to enter if you do. One last thing, you won’t be able to use your magic in public. If you do, you are likly to be taken prisoner or forced into the army of Greystone. Be careful, but do what you have to do.

They make it to the village of Glas and make a new friend, Zuri a dwarven blacksmith who, so enthralled with the Phoenix, gave a deep discount on their new items. They also received 20 GP that was left over after the sale.

While in the town, Kari gave an ancient gold coin, that they learned was worth 600 GP, to the owner of the stable, Baldor.

They got an old black mare, and a Cart. Kari also told him about the man who had died in the Tavern. (It was his father) Kari had left a GP on each of his eyes and prayed to Anubis. Then the soul of Ribo was released and he passed into the land of the remembered.

They met Fera the half-elf tavern owner, Rhena the halfling harlot who told them of the price of the ancient gold piece.

They also learned that medicine is something that people don’t talk about and is in the same realm as magic.

Finally they left the village of Glas and on their way to the Feilds of Ancora.
