Wachter's Eye Ring (Full)

F- iona Albina Wachter was born to a wealth family in the small valleytown of Vallaki in the Country of Barovia under the reign of the Great Count Strahd Von Zarovich, as her parents before her were, and theirs before them, and so on for as long as any remembered. Growing up Fiona was told stories of Strahd's greatest deeds for her people.

She was told of a time long ago when Vallaki was known by another name since erased from record. The Baron at the time was an indulgent man and would regularily skim coppers from the Count's taxes. Such small amounts were hard to find he reckoned, until one tax season when the ominous black carriage made it's way into town. After ridding the embezzler of all his valuables Strahd called the town together to witness the corrupt baron forced to lie on his belly in not but his smallclothes. Strahd listed the man's crimes, showing the people how he had squandered their taxes and wasted the funds of the crown, and when all was said he called forth the man wielding an axe and with one swing
began to erase the long forgotten baron.
.

"To decry me is foolish, to steal from me, fatal. Understand that no crime will escape my eyes and for as long as I reign there shall be no repeat offenders. I demand no more than is needed of my people for the longetivity of crown and country. Such dishonest greed is an ill way to show appreciation for such leniency. This will be but the beginning of your end: none may be allowed to remember your crimes; we will remove the stain of your lineage from all records and no monument nor property of you or your kin will be permitted it's foul existence any longer." -Strahd Von Zarovich

After the execution it was decided that Strahd would appoint the next leader of the town and despite the Wachter family's ties to the Zarovich family they were passed over for another known as Vallakovich due to an old agreement. The Wachters however received the manor that Fiona would eventually grow up in centuries later.

Fiona's life took a rapid change in her eighteenth year as her father had only recently finished signing her marriage agreement when he took rapidly ill. Despite much haste by both houses her father would die three days before her wedding. Despite her age Fiona proved to be of strong will and insisted on sharing in the duties of running the household with her new husband Nikolai. Despite being arranged the two did eventually grow to love eachother and were known for having regular guests.

One such guest was the Vallakovich family when Wachter moved to marry their houses and guarantee the existence of a great house to rule the settlement for all the days to come. Viktor Vallakovich was to marry her daughter Stella but after only a single meeting Viktor refused the idea insulting the denizens of Wachterhaus. Despite being the wronged party Stella insisted on visiting Viktor in his home to try easing the hostilities. It's unknown what was said that day but when Stella returned she was quiet and soon after her mind began to go. Fiona blamed Viktor for her madness and although many felt her justified in this accusation it was never proven.

Soon after those events Fiona began inviting other Barovian nobles and some local prominent figures to her new book club. Despite his unnatendance Nikolai was reputedly very supportive of Fiona's gatherings and when he passed some years later a special service was held by the book club after his wake. On the night of this service the first Wachter Eye Rings were handed out to the guests and the inner circle was formed.

Appearance

The ring is made of an oily dark metal covered in many rubies that seem to glint like the eyes of dozens of small predators.
