Zhonya's Hourglass

From League of Legends

Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

A small hourglass filled with golden dust that looks like sand. Upon inverting the hourglass, the dust shifts, but does not flow through the neck of the hourglass, as though stopped by an unseen barrier.

While attuned to this item, if you are hit by an attack or affected by a spell, you can use your reaction to activate the item. When you do, Your body and everything you are wearing or carrying becomes frozen in time, petrified as a solid gold statue until the start of your next turn. The statue has immunity to all damage and effects (including the triggering one) for the duration, and cannot be destroyed by any means. You must complete a long rest before using this effect again.

The Heart

From Dishonored

Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

A human heart that has been infused with occult magic. The heart has a small hole with a window in its center that reveals a complex inner mechanism at work, along with a faint light. The Heart has wire wrapped around it and shards of bone sticking out of it, giving it a very gruesome, patchwork appearance.

While attuned to this item, you have a +1 to your wisdom score and advantage on Insight (Wis) checks. Addtionally, you may squeeze The Heart to have it peer inside the heart of a humanoid you can see within 50 feet. An ethereal voice heard only by you whispers a deep secret concerning the target into your ear. You may also squeeze the heart without a humanoid target. When you do, the voice instead provides a secret concerning the area that you currently preside in. This effect has 4 charges and regains 1d4 charges every morning at dawn. After a secret has been disclosed about a person or area, that is the only secret you are able to learn about the subject. Any attempts to use the heart on a subject that it has already been used on will result in the heart simply reiterating what it had last told you.

What's in a secret?

Secrets can range greatly in the amount of information they reveal. Some examples of secrets include the following:

  • He's very proud, and doesnt take insults lightly.
  • She has had a deep fear of spiders since she was a girl.
  • This person is not who they say they are.
  • She knows the location of the treasure.

King's Blade

From Cave Story

Weapon (Shortsword), rare (requires attunement)

A shortsword with a green scarf tied around its handle. It is said to have belonged to a brave warrior known only as "King", whose soul now rests inside the blade.

While attuned to this item, you have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this item. You can also conjure the soul of the warrior to attack your enemies. On your turn, as an action you may have the soul of the warrior awaken, and lunge forth from the tip of the blade in a straight line 30 feet, wielding a spectral copy of the sword. If the spirit collides with an obstruction that would impair its movement, it dissipates. Upon impact with a creature, the soul stops, and makes four rapid sword attacks (Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, Hit 5 (1d4 + 3) slashing) against the target. You must complete a long rest before using this feature again.
