How something so familiar can feel.. so alien. The door was a door, but it didn't truly feel like a door. The people and creatures were there, but so very empty. The sound of life, sounded more like static. As if it was attempting to sound like everything all at once, but instead sounded like nothing at all. The streets smelled vaguely of earth, while the interior of buildings and structures smelled as if someone described to you a smell, and insisted you imagine it. It felt as if life here was instead a void, where there should be life, there was **nothing**. {{attribution Veira Bassen, *The Lucid Wanderer*}} }} #### Lucid Journey *5th-level Enchantment* **Casting Time:** :: 1 action **Range:** :: 60 feet **Components:** :: V, S, M (Lavender, a feather, and a piece of organic material from the target) **Duration:** :: 12 hours, or until the target awakens from their next Long Rest **Classes:** :: Bard, Cleric, Wizard You intrude on a target creatures dreams, allowing you to peer into their desires and fears. Target one creature within range; the target must succeed on a *Wisdom* saving throw, or become vulnerable to your intrusion. If the target fails, you can sense the next time the creature falls asleep; when they are, you can magically enter their dream through a meditative state, where you are considered *Unconscious* for the duration. : ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: While within the dream, the target is unaware of whether you are apart of the dream, or an intruder, but the target can use their *Insight* to discern your true intentions. The target can make a *Wisdom (Insight)* check, versus your *Charisma (Deception)* check to discern that you are an intruder in their dream. If they do, they can force you to make a *Wisdom* saving throw against your own spell save DC, being forced out of the dream on a failure. Their dream is entirely their own, and is up to the discretion of the DM for what occurs while in the dream; you have no influence over what happens in the dream, outside of the actions that you yourself take. It is also up to the discretion of the DM to what extent of influence your spells and abilities have on the environment and creatures within the dream. You are aware that you are in a dream, but everything looks, feels and smells real. You retain your level, spells, hp, armour class and any other phyiscal and mental attributes, but you only have what is physically held or worn by you when you enter the dream. Any pain feels real, and any damage you take within the dream is dealt against your dream hp total; while your real body remains physically unharmed, you will take psychic damage equal to the damage you take within the dream. When damage would reduce you to 0hp within the dream, your phsyical body instead returns to 1hp, and you are awoken from the dream. : As an action, you can choose to exit the meditative state early. When you do so, your physical body retains any psychic damage it took, but any perceived damage from within the dream disappears. Unless discerned from within the dream, the target remains completely unaware to the intrusion. {{position:absolute;bottom:3px;left:-530px;widtch:auto; {{footnote *Created with The Homebrewery}} }} {{imageMaskCenter14,--offsetX:-10%,--offsetY:-15%,--rotation:360,opacity:40%,height:75% ![background image](https://imgur.com/JVZ4UgV.jpg){position:absolute;bottom:-30px,left:7px,height:73%} }} {{position:absolute;bottom:40px;Left:559px;width:auto;opacity:.7 ![Reforged Existence](https://imgur.com/SYsNpFT.jpg) {width:75px,mix-blend-mode:multiply} }} {{artist,bottom:30px,left:530px,opacity:.7 ##### Reforged Existence | }} {{position:absolute;bottom:40px;Left:670px;width:auto;opacity:.7 ![Aileen Bee](https://imgur.com/o6tMGfz.jpg) {width:75px,mix-blend-mode:multiply} }} {{artist,bottom:30px,left:663px,opacity:.7 ##### Angbands Art }}
