### Akupara
The great mother tortoise Akupara is the closest thing the tortles have to a deity. Her shell is over three thousand feet across, at least a hundred feet deep at its thickest and covered with it's own unique combination of vegetation which has been accumulated over millennia of travels through many different lands. Her head two hundred feet across and her mighty legs are over three hundred feet in diameter.
Why she travels no-one really knows. The leading zoologists have differing theories, though currently the prevailing theory seems to be that Akupara is searching for a nesting ground, that she may be looking to lay her eggs somewhere. Whatever the reason, Akupara can often stay in one place for years or sometimes even decades before deciding to move on.
The city of Ta-Tata is many centuries old, but the mythology of Akupara far predates it's existence. If other members of her species still live, they have long since gone to earth, hibernating for hundreds of years. Just as her age is a mystery, so is her gestation period. If she is pregnant, then there is no way of knowing when she will lay her eggs. However, when that day occurs, it will be cause for celebration as well as sadness for the tortle race, it will mean Akupara's children will be born, however it is likely that this will also be Akupara's last stop too.

### Ta-Tata
You won't find the tortle city of Ta-Tata on any maps, or at least not the ones without magic involved in their creation. This doesn't mean the city is hard to find, plenty of people are more than willing to direct travellers and traders to its last know location. The problem lies, or rather doesn't lie, in where it was built. Founded upon the shell of the greatest tortoise that ever lived, Ta-tata is a city of no fixed abode. Well over half a square mile of city sits upon her back, with underground tunnels in the sediment that sits upon her shell, and even deeper, inside the shell itself.
Wherever Akupara travels, Ta-Tata goes too. For it's residents, this is an ideal situation. They get to protect the great Akupura, but also they get to travel, to experience new cultures and trade skills and crafts.
Trade is important to the tortles of Ta-Tata, it opens up relations with most cultures and the residents of Ta-Tata usually have something of interest to most. Centuries of trade have left the city a place of wonder, with many exotic goods and items to be offered. It's not only goods that Ta-Tata seeks though. Experiences are at the heart of everything they do, and more precious than rare items are rare and unique individuals, for although it is a tortle city, all are welcome and those that can offer something new are highly prized indeed.
Unlike most of their settlements, tortles will defend Ta-tata, rather than leaving it as they often would. For it is not just the city that they protect, but Akupara herself. To allow her to come to harm would be felt by all tortles for many thousands of years.

A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, but has total cover against attacks and effects outside Akupara. A swallowed creature takes 28 (8d6) acid damage at the start of each of Akupara’s turns. Akupara can have any number of creatures swallowed at once. If Akupara takes 40 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, Akupara must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of Akupara's head. If Akupara dies, swallowed creatures are no longer restrained and can escape by using 30 feet of movement, exiting prone.
