# Order of the Headless Deep within a darkened forest lies a small clearing where an ancient altar sits. Upon the altar sits the Guillotine. The Guillotine's origins are mysterious, but a sacred order of headless blood hunters use it as their sacred initiation rite. A person seeking to become a Headless Hunter must journey to the Guillotine and willingly sever their own head with it. The Curse of the Guillotine keeps them alive after death as an undead creature. This offering of one's own head is considered a sacred act among those who possess willingness to sacrifice everything in order to slay the creatures of the night. You have journeyed to the fabled Guillotine and sacrificed your own head to acquire the Curse of the Guillotine. You are unwelcome by most, due to your appearance, but that price that is trifle compared to what you have already paid. The mysterious Guillotine enhances your power as you offer it more of your blood through your Crimson Rites. Sacrifice is your nature. It is what empowers you, for what can your enemies take from you when you have nothing left to give? ### The Curse of the Guillotine When you join this order at 3rd level, you sacrifice your head to the Guillotine, becoming a Headless Hunter. Your body and head are kept alive through the Curse. You continue to speak through your head's mouth. Your head shares the same AC and hit points pool as your body and both share damage taken. When your head is being carried by another individual, the head automatically succeeds or fails on Dexterity saving throws depending on whether that individual succeeds or fails. The head takes equal damage as the creature that carries it when that creature is hit by an attack that forces it to make a Dexterity saving throw. Your head automatically fails Dexterity saving throws if it is not being carried or moved. Your head can take the form of your normal humanoid head, a decaying head, a skull, or you can channel your spirit into a glass orb, pumpkin, or similar sized object and have it serve in place of your head. You are immune to being blinded or deafened and have blindsight out to 60ft. You can see through the eyes of your head by concentrating as a bonus action. ### Hurl Head Beginning at 7th level, your head becomes imbued with your Crimson Rite blood magic and can be used as a morbid weapon. When you use your Crimson Rite to imbue your weapon, the effect is also applied to your head. Your head becomes a natural weapon that can be thrown as a bonus action. The head deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1d8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus as well as dealing your Crimson Rite damage. Your head automatically returns to you when thrown, regardless of whether it hit the target. ``` ``` ### Sight of the Damned At 11th level, when you see through the eyes of your head, your head can see invisible creatures and it can see out into the Ethereal Plane to a range of 30 feet. ### Undeathly Resilience At 15th level, your body's has become more like that of a true undead. You gain immunity to disease, poison damage, and the poisoned condition. You are immune to effects that cannot harm undead, but you become subject to being frightened by turn undead or similar effects. ### Decapitating Strike Upon reaching 18th level, you learn to channel the blade of the Guillotine through your strikes. When you attack a creature that has at least one head with a weapon that deals slashing damage while your Crimson Rite is activated and roll a 20 on the attack roll, you may choose to cut off one of the creature's heads. The creature dies if it can't survive without the lost head. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to slashing damage, doesn't have or need a head, has legendary actions, or the GM decides that the creature is too big for its head to be cut off with this weapon. Such a creature instead takes an extra 6d8 slashing damage from the hit. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you complete a long rest.
