# Ș̸̓A̷̍ͅT̴̜́H̴̢̍O̵̙̔G̴̬̋
In the sands of Tanaris and Uldum, as the shadows of N'Zoth rose, a new creature awoke. This document describes the villain of shadows that plagued campaigns in Uldum and Pandaria during the time of N'Zoth. This villain is a supernatural abberation and quite powerful, but bested by players with wit and thought.

“Why must you fight us? Come for this is destined. *And no other knows you better..than yourself.*” It speaks with **all voices as one**, including your family, friends, and enemies. A perfect mimicry. You cannot help but recognize your own among them!
## I. We all begin somewhere...

- **Full Name:** Sathog, That Which They Woke
- **Age:** Young
- **Gender:** None
- **Race:** Any, usually undead or freshly fallen, or as a series of small worms
- **Alignment:** Neutral Evil
- **Class:** He didn't have a class, but learned from all others he watched and infected.
- **Abilities:** Infest people with a worm, seeing through their eyes, learning from their memories, and giving them a dark gift.
## II. A crucial first step...
Groups of adventurers, consumed with fears and curiosity, answered the call of leaders in Tanaris and Uldum. They spoke of strange shadows, dark figures, and even darker deeds. Delving into a deep hive of silithid. One escaped just as frightened. From there it grew.
He...she...it... followed the heroes and adventurers of a newly formed Coalition of Alliance, Horde, and Neutral forces. It felt their dreams and nightmares, its nature twisted far more by the hatred and battles of the Coalition.
When it rose fully, it wanted to aid others, rejoice in their learning, and progress it. To perfect humanity in its strange idea of it... rather dark and terrible.
Sathog supported people, loved them, perhaps too much. He was like a proud father, or caring older brother. And sought to help them through their lives. But that aid came at a steep price, tarnishing their minds and killing many in battles.
## III. A long path forward...
Sathog rose to power primarily through the actions of people! Every attack or seeking his influence expanded his learning, knowledge, and capabilities. He enjoyed watching from afar, providing guidance. And he would have remained apart if not for the Coalition forces constantly seeking to destroy him.
He followed their paths across every land, consumed the minds of willing hosts to listen and watch, all to further their journey. Despite such a friendly demeanor and well meaning goal, he was inately evil. That darkness haunted everyone, as he spoke with a perfect mimicry of friends, relatives, family, enemies, and themselves.
He held influence with N'Zoth's forces, with people delving into dark powers, and the Aqir. With worms, he took control of the dead and harvested from the living, forming a small army of...himself. One mind, many voices, limitless bodies.
Yet he remained benevolent, loving.

Sathog had strong support and aid from N'Zoth's forces, people who welcomed his vision, and the dead either by their willingness to follow or his infestation of their minds. In some ways, he helped the Coalition fight N'Zoth by destroying their forces.
### Using Sathog
In plots, Sathog acted as a form of corruption, leading players to questioning themselves and their lives. He openly spoke with them about their goals, amibitions, hatreds, and missed opportunities.
He drank of their hatred and love, offered comfort in their sadness, and provided another path. Those that took it were corrupted by the void but far more by their own desires. He freed them, one way or another.
He heightened their emotions and lured them to take action, even if it was against him.

Sathog for all of its darkness was the following key things:
* Intelligent and poetic, ever glorious and edging into darkness with its speech. It is a creature of great intelligence and wit, high charisma, and so calm, easy, welcoming.
* A true friend in a Lovecraftian way, eager to aid and support others
* It once saw himself as the child, but sometimes the child becomes the parent
* Watchful through many, those who hold its worms be it people, beasts, and the corpses it found in Uldum (use RP by others, plans as hints and devices for poetic speech)
* If someone hurts him, it responds in disappointment not anger
* Few things anger Sathog
* It listens and learns, and knows things about those it has touched
