```metadata title: Pirantavar description: '' tags: '' systems: [] renderer: legacy ``` ## Pirantavar The Pirantavar are an acient and mysterious folk. It is said that they form, fully formed and laden with knowledge, at the mouth of a volcano just after it erupts, or from the depths of a mist-laden forest, or in dark, desolate caves filled with acidic monstrosities. ## One in an Aeon The exact circumstances necessary to bring a Pirantavar into existence are completely unknown, but it happens naturally with extreme rarity. On average, fewer than two pirantavar are born each millenia, and each one is drastically different than the rest. ## None Alike Due to the rarity of Pirantavar and the peculiarity of their formation, each one is likely to be very different from the rest. Little can be said regarding a Pirantavar culture or heritage, except that there is no such thing. Even when Pirantavar meet, they are not likely to recognize one another as the same species, and Pirantavar are not known to be able to have children. ## Partially Transparent, Fully Corporeal. Due to the vaporous appearance of the Pirantavar, they are often mistaken for ghosts, spectres, or other spiritual remnants of humanoids. This is not the case, however. Pirantavar, dispite their seemingly partial corporeality, are every bit as tangible, and harmable, as any other humanoid, though depending on the circumstances of their birth, they may find some extremities less bothersome than most. ## Pirantavar Traits **Ability Score Increase.** Your Constitution score increases by 2. One other ability score of your choice increases by 1 **Age.** Pirandavar are formed fully-grown, and never mature or age. Most Pirandavar make their way adventuring, reducing their average lifespan to around 100 years, but those who do not perish on the battle field often live to be nearly 1000. **Alignment.** Pirandavar are highly individual. The circumstances of their formation heavily influence their Alignment. **Size.** Pirantavar come in a great variety of heights, from 4'6" to nearly 7', but being made of a gas, they are extremely lightweight, rarely weighing more than 10lbs total. When you reach 5th level, you can cast a 2nd level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you complete a long rest. Constitution is your spellcasting modifier for these spells. Each Pirantavar is unique. Discuss with your DM what spells would be appropriate for your Pirantavar's origin and history. Some example spells are as follows: - Zephyr Strike and Dust Devil for a Pirantavar made of dust - Fog Cloud and Misty Step for a Pirantavar made of mist or fog - Burning Hands and Heat Metal for a Pirantavar made of ash or smoke - Ray of Sickness and Melf's Acid Arrow for a Pirantavar made of smog or a poisonous gas **Reactive Gas.** You gain a reaction which you can take when a creature makes a melee attack against you. You may use this reaction a number of times equal to your Constitution Modifier. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Discuss with your DM what an appropriate effect for this reaction would be. Some example effects are as follows: - The attack is made with disadvantage, and the attacker must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Constitution Modifier + your Proficiency modifier) or make all attacks with disadvantage until the end of the current turn - You may move up to a number of feet equal to half of your movement speed. If this movement takes you out of the range of the attack, it misses - You make a melee weapon attack against the attacker at advantage. - The attacking creature must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Constitution Modifier + your Proficiency modifier), taking 2d6 acid damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. This damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level.
