## Oath of the Sentinel **** Sentinel Paladins are ranged defenders, whether that means securing the walls of the capital, or defending wildlife in the outskirts of civilization. #### Tenets of the Sentinel Passed down orally from generation to generation of Sentinels, the tenets of a Sentinel are sacred ***Precision.*** You must keep your mind and skills sharp at all times. ***Protection.*** You seek to defend the defenseless and stop the enemy before they can close enough to hurt anyone. ***Independence.*** The life of a Sentinel requires reliance on oneself, and puts an arrows distance between both friend and foe. If you can not protect yourself, you can not protect others.

As an action, you can choose one ranged weapon to gain to following benefits for 1 minute or until you are no longer holding your imbued weapon. Your Divine Smite feature now applies to the chosen ranged weapon for the duration and attacking enemies within 5ft of you does not impose disadvantage. When you reach 11th level, your Improved Divine Smite also applies to your bow while this effect is active. ***Sentinel's Vision.*** You can use your Channel Divinity to peer true. As a bonus action you can gain advantage on Perception and Insight checks for the next 10 minutes. #### Divine Arrows Starting at 7th level you can perform a 30 minute ritual to create up to 10 + your Charisma modifier of magical ammunition. They last for a number of hours equal to your Charisma modifier. At 15th level you can an ammount equal to 20 + your Charisma modifier. #### Aura of Safety Starting at 7th level, you and allies within 10ft of you can’t be surprised and gain a bonus to initiative equal to your Charisma modifier. at 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30ft.
#### Piercing Retribution At 15th level, while you have your Protector’s Bow active, when an enemy within 30ft of you attacks an ally, you can use your reaction to make a ranged attack with your Protector’s Bow at that creature. #### Peerless Marksman At 20th level you can assume the form of the sentinel, as an action you can activate this effect to gain the following benefits for 1 minute: - Your ranged attacks have advantage even at long range and you ignore half and three quarters cover when making attacks. - As an action, you can recall all of your fallen pieces of ammunition within 300ft, attacking the nearest enemy as they return to you, an enemy targeted by an arrow must make a Dex save against your spell save DC taking 1d8 magical piercing damage on a failed save.
