It can be used as an arcane spell focus, even when completely empty of vitality. : **Drain Vitality:** As an action, the wielder can absorb HP or Temporary HP from themselves into the gem at a 3:1 ratio. The gem can contain a maximum of triple the wielder's proficiency bonus. : **Imbue Vitality:** They can grant the stored HP to themself or an ally as Temporary HP with a touch as an action or a reaction.
