## Mokou, Cursed Child of Flame
***Elixir of Immortality.*** This cursed potion was created by Eirin, using the power of [Kaguya](https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/SyZ16OKKtX) to manipulate eternity. Those who drink it are cursed to maintain their current physical state forever. All of their vulnerabilities and frailties will remain with them forever, but any injuries will be healed. They cannot age, become ill, or die. Any destruction of their physical bodies is met with complete restoration, although the extent of the destruction affects the time taken to recover.
***Curse of Eternity.*** Contrary to beauty sung by bards regarding those who attain eternal life, the *Elixir of Immortality* is considered to be more of a curse than a blessing by those who were foolish enough to drink it. Unable to die, those who are cursed by immortality spend their time trying to find a purpose in their existence, which is usually rendered obsolete after a couple of centuries. Most of the relationships that immortals tend to keep are with those who share their fate, as it prevents them from dealing with another death of a close one.
#### History
***Fall from Grace.*** Once a member of a noble rich family, Mokou was the daughter of an influential nobleman which attempted to court Kaguya. Due to her cunning scheme, Kaguya tricked Mokou's father alongside the other nobles, bringing them shame and humiliation. In order to attone for this, Mokou's father attempted to clean the family name by taking responsibility for the failure and committing ritual suicide. Although this act did soften the blow, it quickly resulted in a continuous degradation of the family's wealth and standing in the royal court. After a few years, Mokou's family's only possession was their title of noble, which no longer held any weight.

***Driven by Hate.*** After the fall of its family, Mokou sought revenge against the one she perceived was the cause for all the pain and misery which had befallen her, Kaguya. After months of searching with no resources to aid her, Mokou managed to infiltrate the Royal Palace where she heard the Princess was no longer of this world, leaving only a gift behind for the Emperor. Mad with hate and grief, Mokou grabbed on to the only purpose she could find in life and attempted to destroy the only part of Kaguya still remaining in the world, the gift she left behind.
***Start of Decay.*** Hearing that the Emperor wished to immortalize Kaguya's gift by sending it to the highest known mountain, famous for its ties with immortality and deities, Mokou ran after the secret convoy which carried the gift. Infiltrating the group as a hungry homeless child, Mokou accompanied the convoy on its way to the top of the mountain, discovering that no one actually knew its contents. Upon reaching the peak, the convoy saw an open volcano, still active despite their expectations. There, they met the Goddes of the Mountain, which informed them of the nature of Kaguya's gift: The Elixir of Immortality. Amongst the chaos that ensued inside the convoy with this discovery, with different ideas as to what should be done with the cursed item, Mokou decided that she might have a chance to meet Kaguya again and enact her revenge if she lived forever. As violence erupted inside the convoy, Mokou waited until only a single man was left to take her chance. Mokou murdered the last remaining man and took the Elixir fo herself.
***Eternal Flame.*** After consuming the Elixir of Immortality, Mokou became cursed by its effects. Hoping to one day meet Kaguya to finish her revenge, Mokou wandered the land as a white-haired child who couldn't die. The superstitious folk of her country were usually cautious of her due to her odd appearance, and quickly turned to violence upon learning of her powers. Mokou spent centuries living in miserable conditions, during which she learned to use varied skills, including her ability to create and increase flames, which she now uses as her primary form of offensive power.

>***Innate Spellcasting.*** Mokou's spellcasting ability is
Wisdom (spell save DC 18, +10 to hit with spell attacks). Mokou can innately cast the
following spells, requiring no material components:

> ***Curse of Immortality.***
Mokou cannot die in any way while she has this curse, which cannot be removed by any means short of a Wish spell. Whenever Mokou's Hit Points reach 0, she gains a level of Pain.
As long as Mokou has 3 or less levels of Pain, whenever her Hit Points reach 0 she does not die or become unsconscious. Instead, a *Flame Strike* spell is immediately cast on her location without expending one of her daily uses, receiving no damage from it. She then revives with 1 additional level of Pain.

> Whenever Mokou revives with 1 or more levels of Pain, she is affected by certain effects:
> - Her maximum Hit Point value is reduced by half rounded up and she regains a number of Hit Points up to her new Hit Point Maximum. This reduction of Mokou's maximum Hit Point value stacks with each time she revives.
> - She regains all expended uses of all her known spells.
> - She gains resistance to all damage until the beginning of her next turn.

> When Mokou reaches 0 Hit Points with 4 or more levels of Pain, she becomes unconscious.
>
>***Regeneration by Fire.*** As long as Mokou has 1 or more Hit Points but less than her maximum Hit Point value, she regains 20 Hit Points at the beginning of each of her turns.
>
>Additionally, Mokou loses a level of Pain for every 4 hours that pass without her gaining another level of Pain.
>When Mokou loses a level of Pain, her maximum Hit Point value doubles from its current value, up to the value it had before she last gained a level of Pain.

>***Flame Personified.*** Mokou can spend a bonus action to activate a 20-foot aura of fire around her that deals 1d12 damage to anyone who enter it or begins their turn inside it, dealing twice the amount of damage to all creatures within half its radius. The aura lasts until Mokou dissipates it as a bonus action or becomes unconscious with 4 levels of Pain. Whenever Mokou has 1 or more levels of Pain, the range of the aura is increased by 20 feet and its damage is increased by 1d12 for level of Pain she has.

> ***Possessed by Phoenix (3/Day).*** Mokou forces one hostile creature within 30 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw against her Spell save DC. On a failure, the creature is marked by Mokou, and triggers the following effects:
- The marked creature gains disadvantage on all following saving throws Mokou forces it to make.
- Other creatures within 20 feet of the marked creature gain advantage on saving throws that Mokou forces them to make.
- Mokou's Regeneration by Fire restores twice as many Hit Points as stated.

>There can only be one creature marked this way at any time, and such creature can repeat the saving throw at the beginning of each of their turns, dissipating the mark and ending all of its effects on a success. If Mokou attempts to mark another creature while there is still an active mark, it instantly disappears from the first creature and transfers to the new target.

> ### Legendary Actions
> Mokou can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Mokou regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.
