# The Church of Laduguer
Dwygar was little more than an infant when he was first apprenticed to Forge Master Festus, and began his service in the Church of Laduguer. As Dwygar grew, he learned that Festus was a master craftsman, and the two would spend many long hours at the forge, worshipping Laduguer through the creation of fantastical armour and weapons.
### Laduguer, according to Festus
According to Forge Master Festus, Laduguer is the Duergar God of Crafting, and often chooses to reveal himself to His faithful through blessings on their creations. As a blacksmith, Festus would most often see Laduguer in the flames of the forge. He ascribed this to when he was crafting with the purest intent, to create the most perfect item that he possibly could; when mind and body were focused and acting in perfect unison.
According to Festus, if Laduguer is pleased with the crafter's efforts, He will bless the creation. This blessing manifests in many ways, but for Festus - and later, for Dwygar - this blessing usually resulted in the crafted item being more physically appealing without reducing it's effectiveness; in some occasions, even increasing the perceived attractiveness of the recipient.
### The Drow Alliance
Insofar as Dwygar is concerned, Forge Master Festus is the ultimate authority on Laduguer and the wonders of His Blessings. While Duergar are infamously xenophobic, when they briefly allied with the Drow, Forge Master Festus announced that Laduguer had revealed to him that it was His Divine Will that Festus and Dwygar should craft the armour to assist their new allies. In order to do so, Festus would spend many, many hours contemplating the form and shape of the intended recipients of his masterwork armour - studying sketches at first, then later direct observation.
Often these contemplations would require long hours of studying the intended recipient in a wide range of motions, preferably without the restrictions imposed by clothing, so as to better observe the body's natural movements. Festus spared no effort in making sure that their range of movement would be unimpeded for any activity that they might foreseeably partake in.
:
Or, at least, that's what Forge Master Festus would always tell Dwygar, immediately before he would lock himself in his office with a Drow woman, leaving Dwygar to man the forge.
:::::::
Forge Master Festus' demands must have been quite intense, as the grunting, moaning, and other sounds of physical extertion from within the locked office would often last for many hours.
But somehow, the Drow women never seemed to mind.
:
Forge Master Festus seemed almost sad when the alliance with the Drow ended.

### Dwygar, Forge Cleric of Laduguer

#### Buffs
:
{{note
**Examples of Affected Abilities/Spells:**
___
- Blessing of the Forge
- Magic Weapon
- Elemental Weapon
}}
Growing up assisting a Forge Master, Dwygar saw the blessing of Laduguer many times over his formative years. When his magical abilities awakened, some were subtlely - and not so subtlely - flavoured by these experiences.
When Dwygar uses an ability or casts any spell that creates or affects weapons or armour, anyone wielding or wearing the affected item is perceived as slightly more sultry, just a fraction more attractive. For example, their simple shirt may appear just a fraction thinner, or their bosoms may heave slightly more noticably.

{{monster,frame This effect confers no additional bonuses beyond those of the standard ability or spell.}}

#### Item Creation
:
{{note
**Examples of Affected Abilities/Spells:**
___
- Channel Divinity: Artisan's Blessing
- Fabricate
}}
Whenever Dwygar uses magic to create an item, the result **always** appears to be an item that highlights the physical features of the wearer - no matter how much Dwygar might wish otherwise. Scale mail lingerie, plate bikinis, chain mail mankinis, just to name a few.
:
Dwygar's divine creations are often highly sought after by Bards, Barbarians, and Drow warriors.
{{monster,frame Dwygar's created armors confer the same bonuses and protection as regular armor. Exactly how a metal bikini protects as well as a full breastplate remains a mystery, even to Dwygar.}}

### Examples of Laduguer's Blessed Armour
:
While the Duergar are infamously xenophobic, they are also a proud race who refuse to be told what to do - and that includes who to hate. Over time, items blessed by Laduguer have been crafted for every race in the world.

## Crafting
:
When creating armour and weapons normally - through the use of tools, a forge, hammer, and sweat - Dwygar can make functional, efficient armour and weapons... albeit very slowly.

Downtime Activities: Crafting an Item
Xanathar's Guide to Everything, pages 128-129
**Weeks to craft = Item price / 50**
}}
:
Items crafted in the traditional way have only a slim chance of being Laduguer-blessed; this is a rare effect that can happen to any Laduguer adherent.
However, while Channeling Laduguer's Divinity, Dwygar can complete in a single hour what would take two weeks of concentrated effort to complete. However, items crafted in this manner are ***always*** Laduguer-blessed.
{{caption,npcman-protection
*It, uh, it offers the same protection as, uh...*
}}
:
It took some time for demand for Laduguer-blessed items to pick up, however Forge Master Festus insisted that Dwygar continue to create as much as possible. Some might suggest that having a worker who can complete two weeks of work in under a day gave Festus a competitive advantage over forges that had only normal blacksmiths, but Dwygar certainly never considered his workload in that light.
Although it would certainly explain why Festus demanded Dwygar continue to craft in this fashion, even during the period of low income after demand from the normal customers had dropped off, but before admirers of Dwygar's Laduguer-blessed creations began to patronize the forge more frequently.
