# Ghostwise Nightgliders
### Lore
A lesser known subspecies of Halflings. Ghostwise Halflings are distrustful and prefer to keep to themselves. Their villages are normally centered around a natural landmark, deep in the wilderness. Members of the community carry a piece of this landmark with them at all times. Most are hunters or trappers, living humble lives, hunting no more than is necessary.
It is an old tradition amongst Ghostwise Halflings to keep giant owls. Elite Warriors amongst the ghostwise, named Nightgliders, bond with these owls and ride them as a means of protecting their settlements.
During times of crisis, a lone nightglider acts as a scout while a group of them might go on night raids or might ambush patrols. Those with a knack for magic are trained to become Sibyls, A subgroup within the Nightgliders that are trained in nature magic to provide support for their comrades. Sibyls are generally either rangers or have druidic training.
Nightgliders tend to either scout alone or fight in groups of up to 7, with 1-2 sybils. They prefer ambushing stragglers and picking away at their enemies over launching a frontal attack.
If an enemy seems especially dangerous or formidable, the nightgliders might choose to stay at a distance and pelt their opponent with rocks and arrows instead of using their owls to harry their foe.
