# The Tattoo Artist Tattoo Artists may be one of the least well known forms of an Artificer, crafting magic into a person's skin instead of brewing potions or designing automatons, their brand of invention is not as obvious but can easily surpass the others in beauty. Every Tattoo Artist is unique, combining magical ink with various parts from monsters can lead to some interesting results, and as a Tattoo Artist, these artificers have dedicated themselves to learning more about just what they can do with this. ## Tattoos An artificer who specializes as a Tattoo Artist can draw, write, or outline on their own skin or another creature's to bring out magical effects in the target. Anything from increasing their saves, to protecting them from damage, even gifting the creature the ability of flight, or summoning a weapon from their skin. ### Tool Proficiency 3rd-level Tattoo Artist feature, you gain proficiency with Calligrapher's supplies or Painter's supplies. If you already have both these proficiencies, you gain expertise with one. ### Tattoo Spells 3rd-level Tattoo Artist feature You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Tattoo Artist Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare. In addition, you also gain the Minor Illusion cantrip at this time if you do not already have it. ##### Tattoo Artist Spells | Artificer Level | Spell | |:----:|:-------------| | 3rd | *Bless, Disguise Self*| | 5th | *Invisibility, Zone Of Truth* | | 9th | *Hypnotic Pattern, Major Image* | | 13th | *Greater Invisibility, Phantasmal Killer* | | 17th | *Dream, Geas* | ``` ``` ### Minor Tattoo Beginning at 3rd Level, whenever you finish a Long Rest, you can paint a tattoo onto yourself or another creature. An infusion is used for every 4 Minor Tattoos, 2 Medium Tattoos, or 1 Large Tattoo. The infusion slot is also taken up for anything less, but another is not used until you reach the max. You can also combine them, in the example of 1 Medium and 2 Minor. Tattoos and their sizes can be found on another page. ### Personalized Tattoo At 5th Level, you have learned the interworkins of a spell or item. Choose one 2nd Level Spell or lower from your spell list, it must target self or one creature, or Magic Item of Rare or lower Rarity. You can give the effects of the item PERMENANTLY to a creature. This can only be used once, and if you use it on another the creature the other tattoo will fade(remaining a tattoo, but no longer magical). This does not use an Infusion. ### Improved Tattoos Starting at 9th level, you gain another use of Personalized Tattoo, as well the spell can be a 3rd level spell or lower, and the item you choose can be Very Rare or lower. Also, your tattoos allows you to locate any creature who has one on them, and can cast a one-way message spell once per each tattoo. The words appear on the creature's skin. ### Improved Tattoos By 15th level, you have become immersed into the world of tattoos. Your tattoos now cost half has many infusions, and you gain access to Full Body Tattoos, which take one infusion each. These tattoos grant the following benefits: * Resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage from non-magical weapons * +1 to AC and Saving Throws * +1 to Attack Rolls and Damage with all attacks \page ## Tattoos This is a basic list of tattoos and ideas, but if you want something more or even less than this, DISCUSS IT WITH YOUR GM! I am not going to make ridiculous idea, you can deal with that on your own. >##### Magical Ink > This magical item costs 50 gp for a bottle, which gives you 4 uses per bottle. GMs can modify this how they please, but the 50 gp represents the materials(Kraken Ink) > > Some tattoos may require an addition competent. Some will have listed prices while others are up to GMs. > * Small Tattoos take 1 use(s) > * Medium Tattoos take 2 use(s) > * Large Tattoos take 4 use(s) > > If detect magic is used on the bottle, it shows as Transmutation. When a bottle is used, it becomes just a regular bottle...if it isn't cleaned out, then the magic will still show. ## Small Tattoos
