The first time it enters a creature's space on a turn, that creature takes 1 fire damage and catches fire; until someone takes an action to douse the fire, the creature takes 2 (1d4) fire damage at the start of each of its turns. > > ***Illumination.*** The sprite sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light in an additional 30 feet. > > ***Limited Telepathy.*** The sprite can magically communicate simple ideas, emotions, and images telepathically with any creature within 100 feet of it that can understand a language. > ### Actions > ***Touch.*** *Melee Weapon Attack:* +3 to hit, reach 5 ft ., one creature. *Hit:* 2 (1d4) fire damage. > ***Fire Breath (Recharge 6).*** The sprite exhales a 15-foot cone of fire. Each creature in that area must make a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. ``` ```
> ##### Variant: Fire Sprite Familiar > Some fire sprites are willing to serve spellcasters as a familiar. Such fire sprites have the following trait. > > ***Familiar.*** The fire sprit can serve another creature as a familiar, forming a magic, telepathic bond with that willing companion. While the two are bonded, the companion can sense what the fire sprite senses as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. While the fire sprite is within 10 feet of its companion, the companion has resistance to fire damage. At any time and for any reason, the fire sprite can end its service as a familiar, ending the telepathic bond.
