# Scrying Powder
Stranded in the centre of a vast desert, an elven wizard reaches into a pounch for a fistful of metallic powder. As she hurls it into the air, it forms a dark, opaque tendril of smoke that swirls into a curve, then a crescent, and finally a circle.
She speaks a name dear to her heart, and snaps her fingers. The ring of smoke becomes alight, sizzling with sparks and embers, and bores a window into the weave itself. For the last time, she sees a face that fills her heart with love, before collpasing into the dune's shadow.
### *A Travel-Friendly Alternative!*
For many, scrying foci such as crystal balls or silver mirrors are cumbersome to transport, and too expensive of an investment. These ~~lazy~~ **pragmatic** spell-casters may choose to utilise
scyring powder instead!
By throwing a portion of the powder onto a surface, into the air, or even the bare body of a recipient of torture, a circular window a foot in diameter can be created. Just think of the name of the person or place you wish to see, and snap your fingers! (For the less abled, clapping works too.)

This functions like a *Scrying Spell* until the end of the duration, after which the window vaporises and the powder is consumed. The duration scales with the number of portions used to begin with. Similarly, this can be extended by adding on another portion of powder before the window completely disapears.
