# Pact of Decay Decay. A entropic force that eats at the organic, breeds fungus and putrefies life. It breaks down and works on all things, living and dead, organic and inorganic. It is one of the cardinal forces of the universe that cannot be stopped or ended, only worked around and with to promote growth later on. You have made a pact with an entity of Decay and Entropy, it may have an avatar of fungi or rotten flesh, however it contacts you have are a vessel for rot and decay, empowered to fester and spoil the world around you. Why did you make a pact like this? Did you have a choice? Are you going to fail and fall into inevitable Decomposition? Or will you soar into the skies of spores of Fungus and transmute into something more... fitting? ### History: The Cabal’s investigation upon the Continent of Hypha lead to the investigation into the mushroom filled caverns beneath. As the eras turned the Cabal withdrew to focus on survival, they didn’t realise that they had unleashed upon the continent a threat that was more intelligent and insidious then they realised. Since then survival in the Hyphan fields is not granted, it is not something that you can always guarantee with supplies and knowledge, the Frost and Decay can lead to death even if you know how to navigate and avoid the worst of it. But the whispers from the fields offer a chance, offer a choice... a deal. Surely Survival is worth a simple request, surely you can accept the offer from the wastes, the offer of decay.... ## Expanded Spell List: At first level gain additional spells added to your spell list. Of note, all the spells produce or are flavoured towards Fungal growth. Goodberry produces edible mushrooms, Spike Growth produces large fungal spines, etc. |Spell level | Spells learned| |:----:|:------------:| |1st | Goodberry, Ray of Sickness| |2nd | Blindness/Deafness, Spike Growth| |3rd | Water Breathing, Life Transference| |4th | Hallucinatory Terrain, Stone Shape| |5th | Contagion, Awaken| ## Decaying Grasp Starting at first level with a bonus action you may mark a target within 15 feet of you for rot and decay, the target is afflicted for 1 minute. If the target dies while afflicted your spores jump to another target within 15 feet of them and afflicts them anew, this may spread up to the number of targets equal to your charisma modifier. Until the affliction ends the target takes 2D4 Necrotic damage per turn, and suffers from disadvantage on strength checks but not attack rolls. You may use this feature up to your charisma modifier times before you need a Short or Long rest. ## Fungal Wither: At sixth level targets afflicted with your Decaying Grasp lose 1D8 + your charisma modifier strength score while infected, if this reduces them to 0 they are unable to support themselves and collapse to the floor prone. ## Fungal Bloom: Starting at 10th level, you gain the ability to heal yourself and those around you with a burst of fungal growth, as an action you and any friendly targets you specify within 15 feet of you regain your Warlock Level +your charisma modifier in hit points. Once you have used this feature you cannot use it again until you have finished a short or long rest. ## Putrid Avatar: Starting at 14th level as an action you can call upon any local avatars of Decay or create them if none are nearby, doing so consumes your action, reaction and bonus action for a turn as you focus your spores and call forth 2D4 Myconid sprouts, 1D6 Myconid Adults and 1D4 Spore Servants. The Myconids consider you and your allies as friendlies, and will not attack you unless you damage them first. Once you have used this feature you cannot use it again until you have finished a long rest. Additionally you may convert any Poison damage you do to Necrotic damage, but you must announce it before damage is rolled for. >### Pact Boon: Fungal Growth >If you pick this Pact Boon a part of your body has started to decay and is now infested with a fungal growth. You become aware of any enemy that enters within 15 feet of you, allowing you to not be caught by surprise. Additionally as an action you may flood the same 15 feet area with poison dealing 1D6 poison damage on a failed constitution save versus your spell save DC. This damage increases to 2D6 upon reaching 9th level as a warlock, and increases again to 3D6 upon reaching 18th level as a warlock. > >*Note: this pact boon may also be taken as part of the pact of the fiend, if your patron is Zuggtmoy*
