### Circle of Petroleum
Druids of the Circle of Petroleum harness one of the most ancient elements of nature: liquid fossil fuels. These druids summon torrents of oil to stymie their foes, and safely return it to the bowels of the earth after every battle. They ward the oil they call forth against combustion, viewing their namesake not as a resource to exploit, but as a mighty ally to conserve and protect.

#### Dowsing Rod

*2nd-level Circle of Petroleum feature*

You have an innate understanding of how to locate and conjure petroleum. As an action, you can learn the direction and distance to the closest oil reservoir within 5 miles. Additionally, you gain the following benefits:
- You have the *grease* spell prepared. It counts as a druid spell for you, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can have prepared.
- You can cast *grease* without expending a spell slot. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
- When you cast *grease*, you can target an object you can see within range instead of affecting an area. If a creature is holding the object, it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or drop it. On a successful save, the object is unaffected by the spell. An object that isn't being worn or carried is automatically affected. A creature that attempts to pick up or use a greased object must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or drop it.
- When you cast *grease* using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can increase the size of the square it covers by 10 feet, or target an additional object you can see within range for each slot level above 1st.
#### Liquid Darkness

As a bonus action, you can touch a willing creature and expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to coat it in slick, nonflammable oil for 1 hour. While coated in this oil, it gains the following benefits:
***Slip.*** At the start of each of the target's turns, each creature of your choice that has it grappled must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or release the target from the grapple.
***Slide.*** If the target is prone, it can use its bonus action to propel itself up to half its speed in a horizontal direction of its choice without provoking opportunity attacks. The target can propel itself through the space of another creature, deftly moving past all obstructions.

#### Black Blood of the Earth

*6th-level Circle of Petroleum feature*

As an action, you can create a geyser of oil that originates from you or a target coated in your Liquid Darkness. The geyser is a 30-foot cone or a 60-foot line that is 10 feet wide (your choice). Each creature in that area must make a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature is pushed up to 15 feet away from the point of origin (you choose how far) and falls prone. On a successful save, a creature is only pushed up to 5 feet and does not fall prone.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 3rd level or higher to use it again.
#### Mineral Refinement

A target coated in your Liquid Darkness can't be restrained by magical effects. It can also spend 5 feet of movement to escape from nonmagical restraints or being grappled. Finally, when it uses its bonus action to Slide, it can propel itself up to its full speed.

When a target coated in your Liquid Darkness takes damage, you can use your reaction to cast *grease*, as oil bursts out of its injuries. When cast in this way, the spell originates from the target, and has a range of 15 feet.
