# Some facts about this world
## 1. National Super Hotline
The National Super hotline was put in place in the event of you or your child developing Super-Human abilities.

They will direct you to the nearest S.T.A.R Labs research facility that can assist you in your new journey as a Super-Powered individual. It is optional, but highly recommended for your safety and the safety of those around you. 

## 2. Powered Crime
It is illegal to use your powers to violate public safety laws including violent and non-violent crimes.

Exceptions may vary due to the nature of an individuals powers and abilities.

### Vigilantism 
An individual suspected of interfering with Police or Government investigations may be subject to Federal charges. This includes:

- Violent Crimes
- Breaking and entering
- Property damage
- Theft

## 3. Sanctioned Superpowers
An individual can apply to become Sanctioned via A.R.G.U.S. This qualifies an individual under United States Law to be exempt from certain laws constraining the use of Super-Powers. *You do not need to be Sanctioned in order to use your powers recreationally*.

### Super-Heroics
You will be given the option to work on your own, uncontrained by the United States government. Or offered service and training through A.R.G.U.S. 

Whether or not you wish to keep your information public or private, A.R.G.U.S will ensure total privacy on your end and provide financial support for individuals in need of assistance.

### Professional use
Not everyone dreams of being a Superhero. Some wish to simply use their abilities for everyday life. Sanctioned Individuals are able to use their abilties in their respective careers, providing an advantage to both themselves and their employer. Violation of this ruling may result in Federal charges.

### Becoming Sanctioned
A.R.G.U.S uses 3 main points to determine whether or not an individual is fit to be Sanctioned.

You must:

- Demonstrate sufficient control over your Powers/Abilities.
- Not have a criminal record (Unless you've undergone reformatory action.)
- Indicate desired use of powers: Superheroics, Professionally, neither, or Both.

## 4. Recreational and Professional use of Powers
#### Recreationally
It is within your rights to use your powers and abilities recreationally so long as it does not impede on the will and safety of others. 

#### Professionally
The use of powers and abilities in the workplace is determined by the Company responsible for employment. If said abilities create an advantage of any kind, it must be registered and sactioned through A.R.G.U.S to ensure Human Resourse laws are being followed.

## Things you should know
- The number of individuals on planet Earth with an active Meta-gene has been estimated to be around 80 million people, roughly 1% of the Human population. Furthermore; it's estimated that only 4.5% (3.6 million) of that number are individuals with powers that would actually be classified as "potentially dangerous". 

- Vigilantism is disputed but widely accepted throughout the USA.

- Individual vigilantes who "prove" themselves to be good semaritans who work out of the way of police and government agencies are known to be more renowned than others.

- The Construction + Repair industry is booming due to excessive public damage. Most buildings are re-enforced in larger cities.

- Access to free public healthcare has spread across the USA due to efforts by philanthropic billionaires.

- Technology is still modern with *some* post-modern tech available to the public in larger cities. 
 - The wealthy tend to have access to higher technology.
