Undercover Angel

Deep in the outer planes, a war of good versus evil has raged on as long as mortals have existed. Not all these battles are fought in grand skirmishes in the heavens or hells, some are fought with subterfuge. And though it may seem strange, even angels occasionally partake in this deceptive charade.

Hidden Agents of Heaven

Looks can be decieving. In some circles of hell and the abyss, angels seek to gather intel under the guise of fiends. Though they find this distasteful, their service is invaluable towards protecting the souls who earned their spot in the good aligned planes of the afterlife.

Cunning Action. The undercover angel can take the dash, disengage or hide action as a bonus action

Divine Nondetection. The undercover angel can choose one of the following creature types: fiend (devil), fiend (demon) or undead. When targeted by divination magic or abilities that would determine it’s creature type or alignment it reads as the chosen subtype or alignment instead. It can change the chosen type if it spends 8 hours working on a new cover identity.

Innate Spellcasting. The undercover angel's spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 17). The undercover angel can innately cast the following spells, requiring only verbal components:

  • At will: alter self, invisibility, suggestion
  • 1/day each: modify memory, planeshift

Magic Resistance. The undercover angel has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Stealthy Smite. The undercover angel can deal an extra 36 (8d8) radiant damage when it hits a creature with an attack (included in the attack). The undercover angel can disguise the radiant damage to appear as necrotic.

Actions

Holy Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 5 (1d4 + 5) and 36 (8d8) radiant damage.

Holy Pistol. Ranged Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, range 60/240 ft., one target. Hit 10 (1d10 + 5) and 36 (8d8) radiant damage.
