Red Mage

Red mages are masters of weaving the divine, arcane and martial disciplines together into a swashbuckling combat style.

Trappings of the Red

At 2nd level, you gain proficiency with rapiers, scimitars, shortswords and light armor. While wielding a finesse weapon in one hand and an arcane focus that is not also a weapon in the other, you gain the following:

  • You gain a bonus to AC equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded up).
  • When you attack with a finesse weapon, you can use your Intelligence modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity modifier, for the attack and damage rolls.

Red Magic

At 2nd level, you learn to weave the arcane into replicas of divine and primordial magics. Once you reach the requisite level listed below, the spells are added to your spellbook and count as wizard spells for you but cannot be used for the Spell Mastery trait at 18th level.

Enchanted Moulinet

At 6th level, whenever you expend a spell slot to cast a spell, you weave a mote of red mana into your focus. After you make an attack with a finesse weapon, you can expend red mana to unleash a flurry of empowered strikes in a 15-foot cone which must include that attack’s target in its area.

Each creature in the area must make a dexterity save or take 1d8 force damage for each expended red mana. Half damage on a success. You can only have an amount of red mana stored at once equal to your proficiency bonus and all red mana is lost when you finish a long rest.

Displacement

At 10th level, right after you make an attack expending red mana, you can teleport 30ft to an unoccupied space you can see. Alternatively, you can expend 2 red mana as a bonus action to trigger this effect.

Dual Cast

At 14th level, on your turn, when you cast a spell as an action, you can take one additional action on that turn. This action must be used to cast another spell with a cast time of 1 action. Once you do so, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest or expend 5 red mana to reuse this effect.
