False Appearance. While the triffid remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary plant.

Actions

Multiattack. The triffid makes one slam attack and one stinger attack.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: (1d6 + 2) bludgeoning damage.

Stinger. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: (1d6+2) piercing damage plus (1d12) poison damage. The target must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking the poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. On a critical hit the target is hit in the eyes and is blinded 1d6 rounds. If it fails by 5, they are considered blinded until under the effects of a lesser restoration spell or a DC18 medicine check.
