Sky Answer's Standard

It was said that the Sky Answer mercenary company earned its name at the climax of a battle a few miles from the Last Stand. Fernand de Aragon led a small group of adventurers by flying mount and stealthy boarded and sunk a military airship that was harassing a commercial outpost belonging to the House of Vorti. The battle standard that they carry into battle is constructed out of the airship’s debris to commemorate their crowning achievement.

Sky Answer's Standard

This banner has seen the rise and fall of a family, one tied together by battle, whose bonds were as unbreakable as adamantine.

  • Battle Standard -While equipped this standard serves the same function as the Crusader’s Battle Standard with some added features. It can also be wrapped around a polearm type weapon and still grant the same effects.

  • Sky Ship Forged - The material used to forge this standard came from one of the great sky ships and as such, it grants some of that magic to the wielder. You can fall up to 40 ft without taking damage and your fall speed is slowed to 40 ft per second. If you fall further than 40 ft you calculate the fall damaged as if you fell 40 ft less.

  • Unbreakable - Due to some strange magics that were placed upon it, the standard can only be broken by a very specific ritual which you have not discovered. Otherwise, it is completely unbreakable by any other means.

Remembered Friends

Your fallen allies are never far from the standard they followed for years. They willingly watch over you and grant you some new abilities.

  • Beyond The Grave - While holding this standard your fallen comrades stand behind you. Those who you try to intimidate see a small portion of what lies beyond the veil. You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
  • Ghost Sight - Your allies allow you to see beyond what a normal mortal can. You sense all living creatures within the range of your Battle Standard. This does not apply to undead and constructs.
  • Warning Cry - The standard has seen enough battle to be able to anticipate a strike. Any ally within the radius of your standard can take the dodge action as a reaction to being hit with an attack. This causes any additional attacks made against them to be a disadvantage. This can only occur once per short rest.

  • Spectral Displacement - The spirits protect all those under their standard. If an ally in the radius of your standard is attacked, you and your ally can spend both your reactions to trade places. The attack would then be resolved against your AC instead which may cause the attack to miss. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks and cannot be done in difficult terrain or other terrain effects that would require save to traverse. This effect can only be used once per long rest.
