Watercoloring In Homebrewery

I noticed that there has been an outcry for staining resources, or for instructions on how to photoshop images before embedding them into homebrewery, but there has to be a better way!

"Simple" Watercoloring

If you view the source of this document, you will find four images embedded (numbered in order of appearance):

  1. This will be the focus image for our document. I used a technomancer.
  2. The first ring of watercoloring, sized to fit the desired area of the technomancer image.
  3. The second ring of watercoloring, sized slightly larger than the first ring, but similarly centered on desired area of technomancer. This is meant to blend out much of the excess left over by the first ring.
  4. A small watercolor brush placed to fill the small gap that remained after the second ring was placed.

It is notable that all of the images have absolute positioning and are layered from first to last (meaning the first image is bottom and last image is top). I adjusted the bottom, right, and width properties to get the right look, and you will have to do the same for your images regardless of placement.

"Advanced" Watercoloring

You might note that the last image has a few more properties listed. This allows further control and can be applied to any of the images by simply copying them to their respective style tags.

By manipulating these advanced properties, you can create more controlled, detailed, and layered effects.

You might also note that the fourth image is a different one than the rings. The rings were created for a simple, "one size fits most" application that can hopefully be useful regardless of desired image location, but there are a number of individual brush strokes here, colored to fit this background.

Some of you will potentially see one of my resource images when you post a link to your homebrew on certain websites. This can be resolved by changing the meta tag related to the thumbnail.

Insert the meta tag shown below in this document's source.
