Warcraft Template: Notes & Things

Welcome dungeon master to WoW adventure templates! This guide tracks general formatting and lists of guides and WoW templates. You can create your own campaigns using these templates.

About Homebrewery

Homebrew Warcraft made easy

This template uses the D&D 5ed Homebrewery, which makes the creation and sharing of authentic looking homebrews easy. It uses Markdown with a little CSS magic to make your brews come to life. http://gamerchic.org/warcraft/ink-left-top.png Formatting guide help:

Editing and Sharing

When you create your own homebrew you will be given a edit url and a share url. Any changes you make will be automatically saved. Anyone with the edit url will be able to make edits to your homebrew. Anyone with the share url can view, read, and print!

Make a copy: Click SOURCE top right, copy the code, and create a new Homebrewery file. Paste, edit, and share!

Images

Recommended: See Image Manipulation for a great guide on images, including layout, transformations, and layering watercolor affects.

Like the images used in this template? A set of Photoshop and Gimp files are available to add images within ink splatters or over watercolors. See the images used in this template for ideas for including them.

All images are added using HTML code, supporting style options:

• style:'position:absolute' adds the image as a background and runs text over it.
• style:'float:left' sets the image within a div, panel, or area. Float it to the left or right. Examples in War Machine section.

Photoshop

To use the Photoshop image templates:

1. Download a template:
   • Ink Strip (like the image on this page) - 2 options
   • Ink Large - 2 options
   • Avatar (examples next page) - 2 options
   • Watercolor large (like background next page) - many options
   • Full Horizontal - wide image
2. Add an image above a BASE layer.
3. Right-click on the new image layer and
   select Create Clipping Mask. It will
   only display the content over the
   BASE.
4. Resize and move the image as
   needed over the BASE.
5. Export a png file and store it
   somewhere online (DropBox, Google,
   web server, etc).
6. Add the URL in img HTML code.

For styling the watercolor options, you
can add a layer effect, Color Overlay
set to color. Play and see what you can
come up with! The option on the next
page uses a color layer added to blue
watercolor.

GIMP

1. Download a template:
   • Ink Strip
   • Ink Large
   • Avatar
   • Watercolor large
   • Full Horizontal
2. Add an image in each group, hiding all
   other layers. The mask automatically
   carves out the image.
3. Resize and move the image as
   needed.
4. Export a png file and store it
   somewhere online (DropBox,
   Google, web server, etc).
5. Add the URL in img HTML code.

Helpful Formats

Panel

Title for panel

Add content here. Each sentence/paragraph starts with the greater than symbol. You can add other formats to the panel. Examples:

• Here are some bullet points.
• These are helpful for options, terms, and more!

Use numbering for steps or location markers.

1. In Options make sure "Background Images" is selected.
2. Hit print and enjoy! You're done!

Character blocks are created using information from Conquest D20 System Simplified and War Machine D20 System by Maxen of Moon Guard US. Copy and edit per character, or revise and create your own.
