Lunar Sorcery

Your innate magic comes from the moon and you embody its spirit. You may have been born under a full moon or directly blessed by a moon deity. You can be a beacon of hope bringing light to the darkness or a trickster hiding just within the shadows.

Light in the Darkness

Starting at 1st level, you have darkvision with a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet.

Additionally, you learn the dancing lights cantrip. Once you reach 3rd-level you learn the moonbeam spell. These spells don't count against your known Sorceror spells. You can cast moonbeam normally by expending a spell slot, or by spending sorcery point. When casting moonbeam with sorcery points you can cast it at any level equal to or lower than your highest spell slot level. It costs sorcery points equal to the level at which it is cast.

Lunar Phase

You can call upon the moon's power to aid you in battle. As a bonus action, you can activate this ability and choose a phase to gain its benefits for one minute. You can use this feature a number of times up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).

New Moon. A veil of shadows surrounds you. You can cast spells with a target of Self, requiring no components. You can take the Hide action as a bonus action on your turns. The next phase in the cycle is Waxing Moon.

Waxing Moon. You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage and you can take the Dash action as a bonus action. The next phase in the cycle is Full Moon.

Full Moon. You emanate an aura of dim light in a 10-foot radius. As a bonus action, you can cause all other creatures in your aura to take 2 radiant damage each. The damage increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 3 at 5th level, 4 at 10th level, 5 at 15th level, and 6 at 20th level. The next phase in the cycle is Waning Moon.

Waning Moon. At the beginning of each of your turns, you gain temporary hit points equal to your level and you can take the Dodge action as a bonus action. The next phase in the cycle is New Moon.

Blessing of the Moon

Starting at 6th level, you gain resistance to radiant damage and you can see normally in darkness out to the range of your darkvision.

Lunar Ascendance

At 14th level, you embody the cyclical spirit of the moon. While your Lunar Phase ability is active, once per turn you can change to the next phase in the cycle or spend 3 sorcery points to choose any phase.

Power of the Moon

Beginning at 18th level, you gain greater control of your moon powers as you harness them through your moonbeam. You gain the following enhancements to your moonbeam spell:

  • You can move your moonbeam as a bonus action.
  • You gain advantage on attack rolls against creatures within your moonbeam.
  • Allies within your moonbeam have advantage on the saving throw and receive half damage on a fail and no damage on a success. Allies gain temporary hit points equal to your level when they start their turn there.
  • When a creature within your moonbeam attacks one of your allies, they can make an opportunity attack. If the attack hits, it does an additional 1d10 radiant damage.
