The Flying Brick

The flying brick is a magical construct that is a favorite of wizards and dungeon builders alike, or anyone in need of a secret door that can defend itself.

When used as a secret door or entrance it can be set to open with a specific pass phrase. When the phrase is spoken withing 20 feet of the door, the bricks begin to shift and gather layering upon themselves to create an opening.

If they are not set to a particular task. They are known to roam the structures in which they dwell. Constantly changing the floorplans. Stopping a solidifying in place when they sense motion, and attacking if disturbed.

False Appearance. While the Flying Brick remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal brick.

False Appearance. While the swarm remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a pile of bricks or a brick wall.

Shapechanger. The swarm can use its bonus action to take the shape of a 5-foot wide by 5-foot tall by 1-foot thick Flying Wall, or back into its original form. Its statistics are the same in each form. It breaks apart into its original form if it dies.

Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny brick. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.

Actions

Multiattack (Swarm form only). The swarm makes three slam attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage, or 6 (1d8 + 2) bludgeoning damage if the swarm has half of its hit points of fewer.

Charging Slam (Flying Wall form only). The flying wall moves at least 20 feet straight toward a Medium or smaller creature and then enter its space, that target must succeed on a DC 16 Derterity saving throw.

On a successful save, the creature can choose to be pushed 5 feet back or to the side of the flying wall. A creature that chooses not to be pushed suffers the consequences of a failed saving throw.

On a failed save, the flying wall enters the creature's space, and the creature takes 27 (6d8) bludgeoning damage and is pushed 15 feet back and knocked prone, or 13 (3d8) bludgeoning damage and is pushed 5 feet back and knocked prone if the swarm has half of its hit points of fewer.

If the creature is up against a wall or other fixed surface, it takes an additional 9 (2d8) bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or 4 (1d8) bludgeoning damage if the swarm has half of its hit points of fewer.
