Leviakin

"The Leviakin truly are a terrifying people. Not only are they descendants of the monster that bit off a quarter of this continent's land, but they're also an unpredictable, war-waging society. For countless years they've been in a one sided war against the Pisceans, slowly wiping their opponent out until the day they drive them extinct. And once that happens, I wonder, what race will the Leviakin seek out next? By the gods, I pray to never see that day."

ā€” Duke Dandy, Ruler of Scraw City

Born From The Depths

Leviakin resemble the great beast they were born from, a towering aquatic behemoth with a serpentine body and a shocking maw. Legend accounts it devouring land masses whole, biting into continents, leaving fang marks on the land that create deltas, lakes, rivers or even mountains. The leviathan was revered in fear and infamy, thought to be unstoppable, only for it to fade away into oblivion as soon as its reign of terror had started. The only thing left behind in its wake was destruction, and a new race, the Leviakin.

While there is few differeences in appearance between the two genders, physically males are usually larger and more aggressive, and the females exhibit darker coloration.

The Leviakin's backs are covered in an azure shell-like carapace with a soft, beige scaled underbelly. They sport long necks with a cobra like hood, ending in their flattened head and long snout. Their heads are adorned with horns that vary in sizes from tiny to humongous. Additionally, jutting from the sides of a leviakin's neck are vibrant orange spines, which also portrude in a large amount from its back. With webbed hands and feet, along with their muscular paddle-like tails the Leviakin exhibit unmatched aquatic mobility.

While amphibious and adapted to both land and water living, the hind legs Leviakin stand with are rather short and stocky, preventing them from incredibly dextrous movement outside of the sea. Of course, nothing is stopping them from getting on all fours and speeding after a target, which has indeed been proven to be a reliable strategy.

At The Apex

Being excellent hunters and immenesly powerful, the Leviakin lie at the top of the food chain in their marshy and aquatic habitat. They often raid villages and plunder towns, killing those who dare stand before them in cold, calculated rage.

An Aquired Taste

While preying on just about anything they kill, Leviakin love no food more than that of fish. As such, they have developed a lustful craving for the fatty flesh of the fish-like Pisceans who neighbor their territory. This hunger has caused a never ending war between the two races, which has been heavily in favor of the Leviakin. When they're not forming raiding parties to storm a shoal, slaying anything that moves, the Leviakin are stalking along piscean borders hoping to ensnare scouts or fry out for game.
