Martial Archetype

Focus Warrior

Most warriors train their fighting techniques and weapon mastery. Focus Warriors train their body to its limits and beyond. They use their body's full potential instead of raw strenght or heavy metal equipment to succeed in a fight.

Bonus Proficiency

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Acrobatics, Medicine, Perception, or Sleight of Hand. Alternatively, you learn one language of your choice.

Limit Focus

Starting at 3rd level, you can focus your body and reach its peak limit. As a bonus action on your turn if you aren't wearing medium or heavy armor, you can go into a stance called Limit Focus for 1 minute. For the duration you gain the following benefits:

  • Your speed increases by 5 feet.
  • You have advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
  • When you use your Second Wind feature, you heal for the maximum amount possible instead of rolling.

You can use this feature two times. You regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest or when you use your Second Wind feature when you aren't in Limit Focus.

Sharp Body

Starting at 7th level you constantly have your muscles focused for combat. You have advantage on initiative rolls.

Your good physical shape also causes you to gain proficiency in Dexterity saving throws. If you already have this proficiency, you instead gain proficiency in Strenght or Constitution saving throws (your choice).

Limit Break

Starting at 10th level, your Limit Focus is improved in the following ways:

  • Your bonus to speed is increased to 10 feet.
  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

You also learn the following Limit Breaks. As an action you end your Limit Focus to use a Limit Break. When a Limit Break requires your target to make a saving throw, the save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice).

Blade Beam: You use your focused strenght to launch an energy wave at a creature. Make an attack roll against a creature within 60 feet of you. On hit, you strike the target an amount of times equal to how many attacks you can make in a turn normaly and the damage is force damage. The target takes half damage on a miss.

Braver: You jump up to 60 feet in the air while swinging your weapon. All creatures in your path must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes damage as if it were hit by two attacks of you. On a successful save, a target takes half as much damage.

While in the air you can choose to also strike downwards. If you do so, all creatures in your path on the way down must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes damage as if it were hit by an attack of you and is knocked prone. On a successful save, a target takes half as much damage and isn't knocked prone. You don't take falling damage for the first 60 feet you fall.

Cross Slash: Unleash a flurry of attacks in front of you. You make 1d4 extra attacks in a 10 foot long, 15 foot wide area in front of you. Every creature in that area must succeed on a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes damage as if it was hit by all attacks and is stunned untill the start of your next turn. On a successful save, the target takes half damage and isn't stunned.

Focused Protection

Starting at 15th level, your focus allows you to be hard to catch. While using your Limit Focus, you also are under the effect of a Freedom of Movement spell.

Omnislash

Starting at 18th level, you can unleash the full energy of your focus. While in Limit Focus you can use your Action Surge as an action to push your limit. For the rest of your turn you can make 1d4 + 1 times as many attacks than you normaly can, moving towards a hostile creature doesn't cost movement and your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
