Arcane Lineage - Sorcerous Origin

Your birth was an event deeply tangled in magic. Perhaps a parent (or distant ancestor) of yours was a powerful wizard or sorcerer. Perhaps you were born the seventh son of a seventh son. However you came about, your blood is suffused with magic.

These sorcerers tap into the raw potential of magic, defining it and distilling down into actual reality. One is never quite sure what they are capable of doing at the moment.

Arcane Lineage Quirks

At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Arcane Lineage Quirks table to create a quirk for your character.

d6 Quirk
1 Your eyes have no pupils or whites; they are a solid color of your choice.
2 When you use your powers, faint motes of light sparkle around you.
3 Strange arcane symbols appear on your skin and then fade whenever you cast a spell.
4 When you sleep you levitate a few inches off the ground.
5 Strange visions and whispers visit you when you close your eyes. Perhaps they mean something.
6 Your energies are potent. Small flames sometimes run along your limbs. Sparks leap from your fingers.

Innate Focus

Starting at 1st level, your innate magic is potent and precise. You ignore the material components of your sorcerer spells that are neither costly nor consumed.

Spontaneous Casting

Also at 1st level, you can call upon the magic you need in an instant. As a bonus action, choose a spell of 5th level or lower that you know. You can replace that spell with a spell of the same level from the sorcerer spell list. Additionally, when you finish your first long rest after using this feature, you can choose to revert the spell known back to the original spell.

Once you use this feature you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Absorb Magic

Beginning at 6th level, you can absorb the magic of others to empower yourself. When you succeed on a saving throw against a spell, you can use your reaction to regain sorcery points up to a number equal to the level of the spell (minimum of 0). You may use this feature only once against a given spell.

Arcane Resplendence

At 14th level, the magic inside of you spills forth, becoming almost unbearable. While you are concentrating on a spell, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed and can hover.

Additionally, if you fail a Constitution saving throw made to maintain concentration on a spell, you can use your reaction to spend a number of sorcery points equal to the level of the spell and succeed instead.

Supreme Sorcery

Beginning at 18th level, you are an unmatched paragon of the arcane. You can use multiple Metamagic options per spell, but you must spend sorcery points for each Metamagic as normal.

Additionally, you regain the use of your Spontaneous Casting feature when you finish a short or long rest, and you can choose to revert the changed spell back to the original spell when you finish a short or long rest.
