Path of the Dragon Soul

Barbarians following the Path of the Dragon Soul bind themselves to the soul of a powerful dragon, granting them enhanced abilities and combat prowess. These barbarians are mostly created through an ancient ritual to bind the souls of a barbarian and a deceased dragon together, though rarely a child is born and a portion of their soul is that of a dragon without need of a ritual. These children create the strongest warriors of the dragon soul, as they form a connection to the living soul inside of them.

As the barbarians following this path grow and further harmonize with the dragon soul, they are able to harness aspects of the dragon and use them through their own body. These barbarians sometimes gain features of their bonded dragon as well, such as the yellow eyes of a dragon, gaining patches of dragon scales on their skin, or growing sharpened claws or fangs.

Living dragons can sense the soul within the barbarian, and will feel a natural kinship towards them, while the soul allows the barbarian to speak to them as one of their own.

Dragon Speech

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can speak, read, and write Draconic, and may also use it to converse with dragons not normally capable of speech, as if speaking to a beast using the Speak with Animals spell.

You have advantage on Insight and Persuasion checks while talking to dragons.

Dragon Soul

At 3rd level, you choose a type of dragon that you draw power from, out of the chromatic dragon types (Black, Blue, Green, Red, and White) or metallic dragon types (Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, and Silver).

You have resistance to the element corresponding to the breath weapon of your chosen dragon.

While you are raging, your weapons are infused with the element of your chosen dragon. Each time you hit with a weapon attack you may choose to deal 1d4 additional damage of that element.

The additional damage increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 1d6 at 9th level, and to 1d8 at 14th level.

Draconic Senses

At 6th level, you are able to tap further into the essence of your dragon soul, granting you some of the senses of a dragon.

You gain blindsight to a range of 30 feet. Additionally, you gain advantage on Perception checks as long as you can smell or hear.

Dragon Aspect

At 10th level, you are able to further harness the power of your dragon soul.

Your resistance granted by Dragon Soul becomes immunity. Additionally, when you deal damage of the element corresponding to your chosen dragon type, you may treat damage immunity as damage resistance.

Legendary Soul

At 14th level, you learn to fully tap into your dragon soul, gaining a portion of dragon's legendary resistance.

While raging you have advantage on all saving throws.

Conflicted Soul

Your chosen dragon soul type does not have to match your alignment, but take into consideration the effect channeling aspects of a dragon of an opposite alignment would have on your thoughts and actions.
