Rainbow Stone

This stone is not native to any plant or plane. It is formed wherever cosmic and dimentional energies collide. Due to this unusual formation it is exceedingly rare and had odd shifting properties. Magic and phyical forces seem to behave strangely while it is near. This can lead to some very interesting experiements...

Not From Around Here

This ore has traveled millions of miles to get to where it landed. As such it is still charged with a vast amount of energy that is greater than what it should normally contain but it does not produce radiation as one would expect. The "radiation" this puts off is magical energy.

Condiut Stone

The stone serves as a condiut for magic as well as a battery. The ability to not only store but direct magic is what makes is so valuable to any practitioner or magic as well as those who do not have magic but want to be able to use it.

  • Odd Magics With-in - During a short or long rest you may choose to switch out 1 spell on your list.

  • Magical Battery - This stone contains shifting magical energy within it that can be easily harvested. Spending 1 minute absorbing the energy of the stone allows a caster to pull a number of spell slots equal to their proficency modifer out of it. These slots fill the highest level slots first and work down until all are used. This can be done once per day.

  • Shifty Spells - Spells directed through the stone have odd effects. When you cast a spell using the stone as a focus, roll on the table to see the effect. This can be done by expending 2 sorcery points. All effects last until the start of your next turn. On a Natural 20 a Crit Effect happens. On a Natural 1 you are effected by the roll.

1 Solar Effect - target or targets of the spell glows withs sunlight in a 5 ft radius. Target cannot become invisible and attacks against them are made at advantage.
2 Lunar Effect - The target or targets effected by the spell shimmer with moonlight. The next instance of damage does an addtional 1d6 of force damage.
3 Space Effect - The target or targets become incorporial as they partially shift into another plane. They gain resistance to non magical damage, however they have disadvantage on saving throws against magic and spells requiring attack rolls have advantage against them.
4 Terra Effect - The target or targets become stuck to the earth below them, their movement speed is reduced to 0
5 Star Effect - All damage made against this target or targets becomes radiant and counts as magical for overcoming resistences.
6 Mana Effect - Choose 2 meta magic options that can effect the spell cast, even if you do not know them. These effect the spell in the described way.
Crit 20 Crit Effect - The spell refunds the spell slot you used to cast it, making it free and roll on the table to add an additional effect.
