Warlock: Machine Mind

You are being watched.

An artificial entity capable of seeing through the ambient magic of the world, tirelessly observing our world every hour of every day. Who built it? Where does it reside now? And what is the purpose of this endless vigil? You may yet find these answers, as this entity has seen fit to enter a pact with you. Your patron may see all, but it is unable to act - you serve as its analogue interface; a tangible extension of its will.

Consult Database

When you make this pact at 1st level, choose from either Arcana, History, or Investigation. This represents your patron's directive, the purpose it was created to collect information on. You add double your proficiency bonus to ability checks using that skill, as you tap into your patron's ponderous intellect.

Detect Threats

At 1st level, you begin emiting an aura that marks your foes. As an action, you can choose a number of creatures within 15 feet of you that you can see, up to your proficiency bonus. Any creatures marked in this way cannot benefit from the Hide action while within your Threat Detection aura, and you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks to locate them within 500 feet of you. You can reassign any or all of these marks as an action.

The range of your Threat Detection aura increases by 15 feet at 6th, 10th, and 14th level, to maximum of 60 feet. You lose the ability to detect marked creatures after they spend 1 hour outside your range of vision.

Predict Violence

At 6th level, your patron increases its monitoring of you and your surroundings, alerting you to incoming danger. When a creature within your Threat Detection aura makes an attack against you or an ally that can hear you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on their attack roll. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses after completing a long rest.

Triangulate Position

At 10th level, it becomes yet more difficult for your targets to evade you. You know the direction and distance away of any targets tagged by your Threat Detection aura, as long as they are on the same plane as you and have not teleported more than 500 feet.

Perfect Synchronization

At 14th level, you've learned to interpret your patron's feedback in a preternatural way. Your ranged spell and weapon attacks ignore cover and can pierce through nonmagical barriers (such as walls) less than ten feet thick. You can target a creature on the other side of one such barrier if they are within your Threat Detection aura, but not more than one barrier.
