Bonding. Montoya and Reckoning are bonded. The bond lasts until Montoya dies. While bonded, Reckoning and the Montoya can communicate telepathically with each other at a distance of up to 100 feet. This communication can still occur while Reckoning is a cinder.

A Bridge Between Worlds Reckoning serves as the bridge for Sargonnas' power to Montoya. As such, Reckoning always knows Montoya's location, as well as the location of the gun.

Flyby. Reckoning doesn't provoke opportunity attacks when they fly out of an enemy's reach.


Rising from Ashes If Reckoning is reduced to 0 hitpoints, they explode, dealing 3 (1d6) fire damage to any creature within 5 feet of them. The explosion destroys Reckoning's body and leaves behind a tiny egg-shaped cinder.

The cinder is blazing hot, dealing 3 (1d6) fire damage to any creature that touches it other than Montoya, though no more than once per round. The cinder is immune to all damage, and after Montoya finishes a short or long rest, Reckoning hatches from it.
