Keen Hearing. The belldrone has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing.

Innate Spellcasting. The Belldrone's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 10). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no components:

  • At will: light

  • 1/day: dancing lights

Transduction. The Belldrone constantly absorbs sound around it to fuel its movement and power its special abilities. Everything within a 20 ft radius gains resistance to Thunder damage, and the noise level can never become too loud. As a reaction, the Belldrone can designate one creature as unaffected, permitting them to raise their voice above the crowd.

Actions

Clapper. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 1 bludgeoning damage.

Baffle. The Belldrone amplifies its transduction ability and generates an effect identical to the silence spell, centered on itself. The effect lasts until the end of its next turn.

Sonoluminescence (Recharge special). The belldrone holds up its clapper, releasing all of the absorbed energy in a 30-foot line. Each creature in that area must make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d6 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

This ability is recharged after a short rest or if any amount of thunder damage is negated or reduced by its abilities.

Belldrone

Designed by Draco Hallacan, a former adventuring wizard who turned to running a drinking hole called the Wight House, the Belldrone is a novelty of convenience. It's primary function is to manage the noise level in a tavern to a comfortable level. Draco's belldrone has become the de facto mascot, its light-emitting clapper having been adapted to adjust the colours generated and allowing for a dazzling performance.

It's been a popular design, and has seen variations made in taverns across the realms.
