Innate Spellcasting. Roulette's spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 14). Roulette can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: At will: message

For the DM (do not show the players):

We Ride. Roulette is a magical creature, and if a character attunes themselves to the creature they will receive the benefits of the Mounted Combatant feat without having to take the feat.

At a time appropriate for the story, Roulette will attempt to sacrifice its rider to the flames. Perhaps the rider has completed a personal quest. Maybe Roulette no longer feels the rider is leading the pair into glory. At such a time, Roulette casts the following spell.

Flames of Glory. Flame-like radiance descends on Roulette's rider. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take 65 (10d12) radiant damage. Roulette will not use Not Your Time to take the damage instead.

Actions

Multiattack. Roulette makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its hooves.

Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 9 (1d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage, plus 3 (1d6) fire damage.

Elbow Hold. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 5 (1d6 + 2)

Not Your Time (3/day). Roulette can force an attack targeted at anyone riding it to target it instead.

Trampling Charge. If Roulette moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a hooves attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Kick Them When They’re Down. If a target is prone, the horse can make another attack with its hooves against it as a bonus action.

Where There's Smoke. As an action, Roulette can create a thick gray cloud of smoke that spreads out from itself in a 20-foot radius, moving around corners. The area of the smoke is heavily obscured and considered difficult terrain. When a creature enters the affected area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, the creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or become blinded until the smoke dissipates or it leaves the area. The smoke persists for 1 minute or until a strong wind disperses it.
