Worgen

Worgen are a strange, alienated folk. Transformed by foul magic or the spread of the contagious worgen disease, they are consigned to live on a knife's edge, torn between a feral bloodlust and the desire to resist it. The more sane amongst them spend their existences searching for a place to belong, while those that give in to their more primal urges are terrors to society, destructive and untamed.

Spurned and Feared

To common folk, worgen are often the stuff of nightmares. With canine visages not unlike werewolves, their form strikes fear into even the bravest of warriors. As such, worgen travelling within society often rely on a mixture of magic and stealth to hide their true nature. Many worgen elect to avoid civilisation altogether, making a living scrounging what they can from nature.

An Eternal Struggle

Worgen wage an eternal war inside themselves, attempting to control their more savage urges and retain their humanity from before they were transformed. They spend their lives searching for a family, or a place to belong and hold on to what shreds of their previous lives remain. However, those worgen who find themselves weak of will are often completely enthralled by their rage, reduced to animals; but more fearsome yet are those who embrace their animalistic side intentionally, enhancing their physicality with wild abandon.

Worgen Names

Worgen who can remember their past or retain their sanity before being transformed often refer to themselves by these old names, or assign themselves a name akin to humans. However, those who do not are often named by either the pack they join or the terrified townspeople they hunt.

Worgen Names: Blackpelt, Bloodrend, Darkstalker, Longtooth, Razorclaw, Sharpsnout, Throatripper.

Age. Worgen are effectively re-born during their transformation, and typically live to around 70 years after this event.

Alignment. Worgen tend very strongly towards one extreme or another: those that retain their humanity often try to live good, quiet lives, tending towards Good, while those who submit to their bloodlust often tend fully towards Chaotic Evil.

Size. Worgen are taller than the average human, but often slender and toned, standing well over 6 feet tall, but only averaging 150-200 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision. Your vision has been twisted and improved by your transformation, granting you superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Terrifying Visage. You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.

Bite. Your razor-sharp teeth are a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strength.

Viciousness. Once per turn, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can immediately make a Bite attack against one creature within 5 feet.

Running Wild. When you take the Dash action, you may choose to Run Wild. If you do, your base movement speed increases to 50 feet, but you cannot hold any objects, wield any weapons or make attacks other than your bite. You can stop Running Wild as a bonus action.

Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and one other language of your choice.
