The Hacker

A Wizard subclass based on computer hacking

Rootkit

Starting at 2nd level, you learn how to infect a single target with a powerful construction of magic that grants you insight into, and control over, their very person. While a creature is infected by your Rookit, you have the following effects available to you:

  • Keylogger - If the affected creatured makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can use your reaction to learn what their modifier is.
  • DNS Poisoning - If the affected creature targets a creature with an attack or a spell while the target is within 5 feet of another creature, you can use your reaction to force them to make an intelligence saving throw. On a failure, they target the other creature instead.
  • Worm - If the infected creature takes slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning damage from one of your allies, you can use your reaction to cause half of that damage to be magically applied to another creature within 10 feet of the original target creature
  • DoS - If the affected creature moves on it's turn, you can use your reaction to reduce them to half their total movement speed.

Buffer Overflow

Starting at 6th level, you can expend two spell slots of a single level to regain one spell slot at the next level.

Zero Day

At 10th level, you can use your disruptive prowess to surprise your enemies with attacks they've never expirienced before. As a bonus action, you can force your target to roll with disadvantage on the next saving throw they make before the start of your next turn.

Logic Bomb

At 14th level, you can use an action to mark a creature with a spell that will be cast on that creature when a described condition is met. The spell must be one you have prepared and marking it expends the appropriate spellslot. Once the spell is cast, you are considered to be the caster. If the condition is not met and the spell not cast with 24 hours, the spell fades and nothing happens.
