Ogre Magi (Oni) Traits


As creations of the evil giant god Vaprak, you share certain traits in common with all other Oni


Ability Score Increase. Your Strength Score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.


Age. Oni reach maturity at the age of 30 and live to be 300 years old.


Alignment. Respectful of clan traditions and of those with greater power, Oni tend to be of lawful alignment, while their brutal upringing and the sadism instilled into them makes most Oni evil.


Size. Oni are much taller than humans ranging in height from 7 to 8 feet tall. Your size is Medium


Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.


Darkvision. Accostumed to prowling through the night you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern colors in darkness, only shades of grey.


Giant. Your creature type is giant instead of humanoid.


Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.


Innate Spellcasting. You can cast the disguise self spell using this trait, when you cast it, you can make yourself look up to 5 feet shorter. When you reach 3rd level you can cast the darkness spell with it, when you reach 5th level you can also cast invisibility with it. You can cast each of these spells once using this trait, and you regain the ability to do so once you finish a long rest.


Regeneration. As a bonus action on your turn, you can regain an amount of hit points equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1). You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.


Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Giant.

Racial Feat

Flying Terror

Prerequisite: Oni


Through mastery of your innate magic you have become capable of flight, you have a flight speed of 30 feet. You can't be wearing medium or heavy armor to use this speed.

About flight in player races

Flight as a divisive topic, so your dungeon master may choose to disallow it. This feat exist so that players may get acces to flight for a more steep price as a form of compromise. If flight is allowed in your games the option also exists to integrate this feat as part of the core race
