Way of Four Elements V.3

You follow a monastic tradition that teaches you to focus your ki, so you can align yourself with the forces of creation and bend the four elements to your will, using them as an extension of your body.

Elemental Attunement

Beginning at 3rd level, you align yourself with the forces of nature. When you gain this feature you can choose what element you are attuned to, from Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. You can change what element you are attuned to as a bonus action, whenever you expend a ki point, and whenever you complete a short or long rest. You gain benefits based on what element you are attuned to, as seen below. Furthermore, you know the cantrips Mold Earth, Control Flames, Shape Water, and Gust.

  • Earth: At the end of your turn, if you are attuned to this element and moved 15 feet or less on that turn, you can choose to gain temporary hit points equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die.
  • Fire: While attuned to this element, you can change the damage type of your unarmed strikes to fire damage, and you deal additional fire damage with your monk weapons and unarmed strikes equal to your proficiency bonus.
  • Water: While attuned to this element, you can change the damage type of your unarmed strikes to cold damage, and the reach of your unarmed strikes increases by 10 feet.
  • Wind: At the end of your turn, if you are attuned to this element and moved 15 feet or more that turn, you gain a +2 to your AC until the end of your next turn.

Disciple of Nature

You learn to focus your elemental energy for devastating results. Starting at 6th level, you learn to weave elemental disciplines into your combat.

As a bonus action on your turn, you can use a Discipline that you meet the prequisites for. Certain Disciplines have prerequisites that you must meet to prepare them. A level refers to your monk level, not class levels. You can do this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you complete a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 1 ki point to use a Discipline, as a bonus action.

When you would cast a spell with a Discipline that is associated with the element that you attuned to, you may expend ki up to your proficiency bonus to empower it. For each ki point spent, the level you cast it at is increased by one.

Mantle of Nature

Beginning at 17th level, you can cast a spell based on the element you are attuned to, as seen below.

  • Earth: Investiture of Stone
  • Fire: Investiture of Flame
  • Water: Investiture of Ice
  • Wind: Investiture of Air

Once you cast one of these spells using this ability, you become unable to use Disiplines associated with the element listed alongside it until you finish a short or long rest.

Furthermore, after you cast a spell with this feature, you must complete a long rest before you can cast a spell, using this feature, again

Primal Disciplines

Below are Disciplines that you can use. If a discipline would have you cast a spell, it is cast at the lowest level possible. You can only use disciplines if you are attuned with the element associated with the discipline (found in the prequistes).
