Primal Path - Blade of Orien

Soldiers who utilise their Mark of Passage, masters of teleportation, experts at controlling the battlefield. These are the Blades of Orien. Many would-be bandits and hijackers plying their trade on the lightning rail have suddenly found their ill-gotten gains retrieved in a flash, or in the worst cases find their entire body teleport into another rail cart, surrounded by sentries.

Unlike most barbarians, their rage is an expression of their dragonmark's power, frequently becoming a cold focus as their mind sharpens towards the passage of time itself. Though called a Blade of Orien, they do not need to pledge themselves to the House for any formal training. Often a Blade is the result of someone who focuses their power on their dragonmark, and unlocks their abilities through personal, rather than formal, training. Still, the majority are House members who travel in service of something greater than themselves.

In order to take this subclass, you must be a human with a Mark of Passage.

Dragonmark Spells

At 3rd level you automatically learn the spells added to your spell list by your Spells of the Mark racial feature when you reach certain levels in this class as on the table below. In addition, you can use your dragonmark as an arcane focus for these spells, even if both your hands are occupied. You can cast each of your dragonmark spells once without expending a spell slot, refreshing on a long rest. Unlike normal spells, these can be cast and concentrated on while Raging. They can also be Ritual cast by yourself if they have the Ritual tag. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability score for these spells.

Dimensional Leap

Those who become Blades of Orien can use their dragonmark's power to shift themselves constantly. From 3rd level while you are raging you can choose that any movement you make is instead a teleport effect, allowing you to move past creatures and obstacles, to gain height, and to avoid attacks of opportunity. You may only dimensional leap to a point you can see.

Orien's Grasp

The power of your Mark enhances, and you gain the ability to teleport small objects. From 6th level as a bonus action you can target an object that weighs no more than 20lbs that you can see within 30ft and teleport it from its current position to your hand. If the object is held or carried by another creature, they may make a Strength saving throw to keep hold of the object and prevent its teleportation.

The DC for Orien's Grasp is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your strength modifier. It can be used against objects held or worn a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, refreshing on a long rest, but against unattended objects has no limit.

Improved Dimensional Leap

From 6th level whenever you move using your Dimensional Leap feature you may choose to bring along a number of willing creatures equal to half your proficiency bonus who you are adjacent to. They teleport with you, appearing in adjacent squares. This fails if there is no space for them at your destination.

Dimensional Switch

Maneuvering yourself and your allies around the battlefield is second nature. From 10th level as a bonus action you can touch either yourself or another willing creature you are adjacent to and cause them to instantly swap positions with another willing creature within 45ft that you can see.

Shadow Shift

A portion of your teleport power lingers after moving. From 10th level whenever you move via Dimensional Leap the next attack roll against you has disadvantage.

Orien's Wrath

The ultimate expression of the Mark of Passage is shifting your opponents. From 14th level as a bonus action on your turn you can choose a creature within 30ft that you can see. They must succeed on a strength saving throw or you can teleport them up to 30ft in any direction, so long as it does not leave them inside an object or creature.

The DC for Orien's Wrath is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your strength modifier. It can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, refreshing on a long rest.

Orien's Cloak

From 14th level whenever you activate your Rage, you may choose to be affected by the Blink spell.
