Eryn And Eryell, Sister Blades


Eryn

Parrying Dagger, Rare (requires attunement)

This small parrying dagger with a flamed blade is made out of a black metal with silvery shards shining bright even in the darkest nights. A thorny stem snakes on the core of the blade. It is always cold to the touch, but hums with life. This weapon is considered silvered.

Emprisonned Soul. This parrying dagger lets you use the following abilities. It can hold up to 3 charges, and gains one charge each time you successfully pary an attack from an hostile creature with it. While an effect is active, starting a new one immediately ends the first.

Protective Sister (1 charge). When you are hit, as a reaction, you gain a +5 bonus to your AC until the end of your next turn, potentially turning the hit into a miss. Eryn materializes from you, her dagger in hand, and attempts to block every incoming attack, her body moving so fast it leaves afterimages.

Harassing Blade (2 charges). When you hit with an attack using Eryn, you may choose to direct Eryn to continue the onslaught. For 1 minute, at the end of your turn, it must decide to move 5ft in a direction of your choice or take 1d4+2 cold damage. This movement provokes opportunity attacks. Eryn jumps out of the dagger, harassing a foe, attempting to stab it again and again and again...

Free Ghost (3 charges). As an action, you temporarily let Eryn free of her cold steel cage. You summon Eryn in a free space within 5ft of you. She acts at the start or the end of your turn (your choice when you summon her). If her HP reach 0 or after 1 minute, she goes back into the blade.

Sentient. Eryn is a neutral good weapon with an Intelligence of 13, a Wisdom of 12 and a Charisma of 13. She has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 40ft.

Eryn communicates with its wearer by speaking aloud. She can speak, read and write Woiselesh and Valleroi. If equiped when sleeping, she also shares the dreams of her wielder. Eryn's voice is clear and soft.

Personality. Eryn is a particularly vivid sentient weapon, often speaking with the people around her or gently humming songs in Woiselesh and Sylvan. While she is shy around strangers, she is a dynamic and upbeat child and hates to be lonely.

She wants to be with her big sister, Eryell, but also to live wonderful adventures. She looks down onto senseless violence but she doesn't like gnolls. She wants a wielder she can consider as a friend, but like any child, she is prone to tantrums. She dreams of being able to eat some cake again.

Ethereal Sight. Eryn can see 60 feet into the Ethereal Plane when she is on the Material Plane, and vice versa.

Bladewraith. Anything affecting the dagger Eryn affects Eryn's dagger as well (such as oils, sharpening or enchantements).

Incorporeal Movement. Eryn can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. She takes 5 (1d10) force damage if she ends her turn inside an object.

Sneak Attack. Once per turn, Eryn can deal an extra 7 (2d6) damage to a creature she hits with a weapon attack if that creature is within 5 feet of an ally of Eryn that isn't incapacitated or if she has advantage.

Actions

Dagger Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 5 (1d4 + 2) cold damage.

Eryell

You cast the Spiritual Weapon spell (its damage type is cold instead of force and the attack is made with a +5 bonus). Eryell jumps out of the rapier, weapon in hand, flourishing to strike again and again and again...

Personality. Eryell is a particularly vivid sentient weapon, interacting with the people around her as if she was still alive. When she is comfortable, she sometimes sings in Woiselesh and Sylvan. She is filled with an intense and burning rage against gnolls.

She wants to be with her little sister, Eryn, but also to destroy the gnoll threat. She can be insanely cruel if it furthers her goals. She wants a wielder she can consider as an ally and respect as a duelist. She dreams of being able to take her parents in her arms again.

Reactions

Parry and Counterattack. When she is hit by a melee attack, Eryell can use a reaction to gain a +2 bonus to her AC against this attack, potentially turning it into a miss. If this would make the attack miss, she can decide to be hit instead to attack the attacking creature with her rapier.

Sistersong

While both Eryn and Eryell are attuned they cost only one attunement slot for the both of them. Additionally, if they are both wielded at the same time, they gain the following feature :

Sistersong. Eryn and Eryell share their charges. Additionnally, Protective Sister, Harassing Blade and Free Ghost can be used simultanuously for both weapon for one reaction, on the same attack and for one action respectively. However, you must spend enough charges to activate both effects.

Their voice interwind as they both sing together in a melody of cold steel and death.
